My wife broke her back in April of this year, so needless to say, the yard has not exactly been a priority. I got in touch with Mateo and explained the situation. I needed the grass cut and the bushes trimmed before the dreaded HOA came down on me like a pack of clipboard‑wielding velociraptors (you know the type).

He told me he could come out the next day, but then said he’d just go ahead and swing by that same day to take a look. BTW — he responded to me on Thumbtack in under five minutes.

He let me know the grass was pretty high (which I expected — I hadn’t cut it since early April and it was now mid‑May), so the cost went up a bit. Totally fair. We talked about the bushes up front and came to an agreement.

The very next day, he and his crew were out there. The yard looked fantastic. They multicut it so there were no clumps everywhere and so the grass could actually benefit from the retained clippings. Around all my trees — perfect. And the front beds? Wow.

My wife has little lawn “bugs” on sticks that go in the bushes… they even repositioned them to make them look funny. That’s the kind of detail you don’t get from most crews.

They definitely have my business until my wife gets better.

I am updating my review on this company. The first cut was good but then after that, I had to call him to make sure I was on the schedule. On 3 separate occasions he said I was and they NEVER showed. I have a problem with being lied to and having to run behind a company to give them my money! Mr. Mateo I suggest that if you are not coming, be HONEST and don't obligate to something you have no intent on fulfilling! Not only is your time valuable, but so is mine. Because of this, I rate your company half a star.
