Introduction: Greetings and the such like! My father worked at RCA David Sarnoff Research Center and inginuity was the gift he left me with. We never had to hire outside help as he passed on his gift of "jack of all trades" to me. Currently, after 38 years in all facets of the construction and remodeling field, (I do not handle anything HVAC, that is something I choose to avoid!), I have intentionally slowed down to working alone, or with a helper most of the time. I required Retina surgery after a long battle with blindness and severe cataract issues, and prefer these smaller jobs now. In the past I have had large crews working for me on apartment complexes, motels, and house building, doing all manner of construction including handicap accessibility remodels, window replacement of all types shapes and sizes, log cabins, octagon log cabins, tiny homes, kitchen and bath remodels, all types of siding jobs, and metal roofs. I was a large management apartment complex corporations' largest vendor for ten years with raves and reviews from the agents at the Dept. of Agriculture who were required to sign off on my HUD work. I also created blueprints and designs for projects and had architects sign their name to these jobs and saved my customers chunks of change! Which means I am fully capable to help you plan for the project of your choosing. On occasions lately, I still can take on large jobs and can call a crew together if needed. However, have left that job as the more people I have to oversee, the more I feel like a babysitter or a marriage counsellor! Ultimately I prefer smaller unique jobs that require skill as my past customers will attest, but of course am capable of large projects. I also do consulting with young contractors who are beginning their careers and need my expertise and experience. I have taught groups in alternative building such as cob, cordwood masonry, straw bale, and underground homes. A good portion of my experience has been in watershed problem solving and large extensive outside rock gardens and retaining walls using heavy equipment to move these huge rocks in place. I certainly can handle handyman projects, to answer your questions as to my ability to do whatever it is you need.
