Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have the time, knowledge, resources, experience, family support and most of all passion to take the time to develop and write custom drum lessons for students. This gives the student the chance to learn drums using songs and artists they like. Books often maintain a "modeled format" in order to be marketed at a profit. Unfortunately this leaves a lot off the table when learning. I also like to take a single book and write additional lessons from it that are better than the book and tailor it to the strengths and weaknesses of the student. I absolutely LOVE to do what I do! It's very fulfilling and gratifying to help teach others about the drumming. Especially younger kids. I'm blessed to be able to share my knowledge, passing along the "torch" so-to-speak, to people of all ages regarding something I'm so passionate about. Over the years I've seen my students grow up and grow into there drumming abilities as an art form and as a form of entertainment and although many drum as simply a hobby, it becomes a passionate aspect of their lives.

Eddie ensures that I learn/know diversified rythyms, syncopations, and augmented rudiments. I left drumming for many years. I returned to drumming awhile back. Since I've been studying with Eddie, I improved my 'chops' and learned many new ones, as well as how to augment my old 1's. This is 1 of Eddie's magnificent, though simple, given abilities. With Eddie's assistance, I learned all types & genres of music 'super quick'. I read drum music much eaiser and quicker, & 'pick up' on song rythyms that I have never previously played - - thanks to Eddie's ability to diversify, customize, & simplify instruction to the individual musician. Now, I'm a confident, experienced drummer once again.

My son (6 years old) began taking lessons from Eddie about 9 months ago. I wondered if that might be too young to start formal lessons. I was forced to take piano lessons as a child, and it was not a great experience. Eddie has such a warm sense of humor and hospitality that he immediately put my son at ease. Eddie is truly gifted not only as drummer, but as a teacher. He is extremely creative and finds a way to connect with each of his students individually. We are incredibly thankful to have found a teacher who absolutely understands how to reach students of all ages and skill levels. He makes learning fun and is not afraid to stray from his lesson plan if you find a song you really want to learn. Eddie is the BEST!

My drumming has much improved since I took lessons from Eddie. He has a lot of experience both as a professional drummer and as a teacher. The lessons are well structured and much attention is paid to personal level and musical interests. He's able to explain the theoretical and practical side of drumming. And also very important, it's fun having drum lessons from Eddie!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My lessons are simply $20 per half hour. If you prefer a one hour lesson, it's $40. Because I don't teach at a store I'm able to charge $5-10 less per lesson. Stores charge the teachers a room fee. I don not have this. I also provide everything you need regarding materials at no charge. This includes lesson material, charts, audio recordings, video recording etc...

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I invite the student and the parent over for an evaluation. There, they get to meet me, see my home, my studio and also meet my family. I explain how I work, with the purpose of setting specific mutual expectations. I also question and evaluate the student and use the fact finding session to develop a long-term lesson plan using short term goals, long term goals focusing on the students desires.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended Knapp School of Music and studied with Skip Layton, I also studied with several private drummers/teachers when I was younger. I'm always self-studying currently via many sources.
