At HDK Landscape & Design we offer concrete, pavers, travertine pavers, artifical turf, sod installations, sprinkler systems, rock and so much more. We specialize in pool deck remodeling utilizing travertine or paver veneers. We provide our services to commercial and residential clients.
Big or small no job is too difficult from custom designs and remodeling to commercial and residential services. With such clients as Lowes, Home Depot and multiple apartment complexes we can handle any job site with the highest quality and professionalism.
With over 15 years of experience in construction and designs, we have seen it all and done it all.

I felt the project went well despite some unanticipated difficulties, such as uneven product, and water lines buried under concrete. James and his crew were able to problem solve for these difficulties and came in at budget within the time frame required. They showed up on time and listened to what we were envisioning to bring the installation to completion. There pricing was mid range to other quotes we received but the reliability and professionalism was worth it. The crew was polite and respectful of our property and our neighbors. They did a great job on our travertine paver, irrigation and lighting installation. Thanks HDK

James, of HDK lawns, originally came out to quote me for turf. While turf was out of my budget, he suggested pavers as another option. His quote for pavers fit my budget and he was knowledgable and efficient throughout the entire project. There was one small thing I didn't like about the finished end of the patio when he was finished, but he promptly came out 2 days later and fixed it for me to make me 100% satisfied with the job. He's a great person to communicate with and I highly recommend him and his company for all of your landscaping needs.

James and his crew did an excellent job with our major irrigation and gravel installation project. They also fixed a few leaks, put in paver walkways, and gave us plenty of free advice. Their work was speedy and thorough, so needless to say we are as pleased as punch. We had multiple quotes from other landscapers, but HDK Lawns and More was the most responsive, easiest to work with, and all of it at a price much lower than their competition. James was consistently friendly and communicated with us at all turns. Even when we changed our minds or pointed out something we wanted done a bit differently, he did not bat an eye and was wonderful with jumping on the changes and working with us to give us exactly what we specified at no extra charge. Even little touches we had not specified like angling our walkway turns were completed perfectly simply as a matter of providing us the best quality work. We are keeping their information handy for any future projects because our experience with them was absolutely perfect. All my best to James and his company in the future!

I hired HDK Lawns for my backyard project. In scope was a patio rebuild (patio pavers), replacement of the drip irrigation system and addition of a couple of trees and bushes. I ended up going with HDK Lawns because he was able to provide a vision for the yard considering the budget and my wants from the project. After deciding to go with HDK, James came back to walk through the contract and discuss more specifics regarding the project. He also gave some advice for future projects down the line for the yard, which I appreciate.
Once the project started, everything went smoothly. The morning before his team started, James explained what the approach would be to rebuild the patio which made sense to me. Very easy to communicate with his team throughout the project and he always let me know what was going on after ending the day of work. James walk me through the work performed after completing the project, explaining to me how everything works and things I’ll need to look out for as my new trees and bushes came in. He is pretty open about communication and reminded me not to hesitate if I had any questions.
I would definitely use them again.

James and his team did a complete makeover of our backyard including a travertine overlay for our pool and patio, new fake grass, built up planter and some new plants. Overall, the large project couldn’t have gone better with James and his team. HDK is a one crew company so you always have James (the owner) and the same professional crew working on your project, which is a nice benefit.
James was good at communicating their upcoming plans and when we needed consultation to ensure we were getting what we envisioned. The HDK team always listened to questions, concerns and comments with the ultimate care as James truly wants happy customers, even if it means working through some fine details midway during a project. This is another added benefit of the small company because minor changes were easy and never were a point of contention (in fact the complete opposite).
I also want to thank the crew for their care and concern for the safety of our family. We have a toddler and James, without prompting, installed a snow fence around the pool and took it down and put up every day. He was very concerned with the safety of our child with our regular fence down for two weeks, which just shows his true character as a person. James and his team also were very interactive with her and never seamed in a hurry to “get the job done”. I could tell from day one people came first to James.
Obviously, no job is perfect and we did have some hiccups. The biggest one was the reinstall of my temporary fence. James found out he couldn’t get the parts needed and I had to contract the pool fence installer myself. However, James coordinate the entire process and discounted my final price by more than his original install fee for the fence. I could tell he felt bad promising me he could install it up front and I appreciated his sincere concern with the install and wiliness to give up some of his profit to make it right.
Quality overall was good. We have had a few minor things to fix (as is expected) and James has been first rate at getting them fixed. He does so with a smile on his face as he stands behind his work and desires complete satisfaction.
We highly recommend HDK and plan to use them for a project again soon.

Every project is different. From the size of a yard to how custom a customer wants it. Although some prices are standard we have options to fit everyone's needs and budget.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My wife and I were trained by her grandfather who had over 40 years experience in landscape and design work. We have been enjoying creating backyard paradises for 10 years now and enjoy every moment of it...and love the different aspects and designs of each home owners yard.
