Music Education from Jimmy Davis Music At Jimmy Davis Music we believe in the power of music. Music can have a positive effect on all aspects of life. It is an excellent stress reliever, heals pain, and changes lives. Music is even proven to improve test scores among children. The benefits of music are countless! That is why at Jimmy Davis Music we believe in quality music education for all. Here is a listing of the courses and programs we offer: Private Lessons Private Voice and Piano Lessons The goals of private lessons are to expand the students performance capability, increase knowledge of the voice and/or piano and enhance the enjoyment of music through the study of repertoire, technique, physiology, and musical style. Theoretical aspects of music are incorporated as time permits. Special performance interests of the student are also considered. Classes The T-Town Kidz A vocal ensemble designed for children 8-14 years old. Students learn songs from all styles of music; pop, jazz, multi-cultural, classical, country and more! They also learn how to read music, receive pitch training, and eventually perform in local events. Voice Performance Workshop A workshop for the development of the students complete vocal performance. Class focuses on interpretation, dramatic presentation and musicianship of the singer. Group Piano Introductory piano for persons with little or no prior keyboard study. Emphasizes development of basic keyboard skills, music reading, and conceptual understanding pertinent to early level study. Includes introduction to transposition, harmonization, sight reading, improvisation, and basic keyboard repertoire. Music Theory An introduction to the rudiments of music theory and musical notation, including pitch, rhythm, meter, intervals, scales, chords, and musical terminology. Music Appreciation A general introductory course designed to enhance listening enjoyment and ability. Emphasis on the elements of music, the characteristic styles of major historical periods, and the lives and works of key composers within the Western musical tradition. World Music An introduction to the great variety of musical styles from around the world. Examines representative music of the non-Western world, with an emphasis on its function within the culture of which it is a part. Private Lesson Rates $25 for 30 Minute Lessons $40 for hour lessons Group lessons rates are negotiable Class Rates $65 for 6-week sessions
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A great energetic instructor is always important. So here is a little about Jimmy Davis: Fueled by a passion for music, Jimmy Davis began his journey down the road to becoming a well-rounded musical talent at a young age. Jimmy honed his natural talent and built up his musical background while performing in school choirs and volunteering in church choirs. At the age of 19, Jimmy became the Seasonal Choir and Childrens Choir Coordinator at his hometown parish in Tolleson, AZ, and within two years became the coordinator of the entire music ministry program. Jimmys professional music career has only grown from there. Working as a musician and teaching artist, Jimmy strives to spread the healing and saving gift of music to others in all areas of life. While he continues to direct church choirs, spread the gift of music through voice and piano lessons, and host karaoke nights at local venues, Jimmy actively works to expand his knowledge and abilities by pursuing a degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance. Not forgetting the giving and altruistic nature of music, Jimmy also makes time to direct a volunteer community choir that performs at fundraisers, rallies, holiday festivals, and solemn religious services. Jimmy Davis is currently the Assistant Music Director and Music Teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and School. He has formally served as a Teaching Artist for the Phoenix Conservatory of Music, and The Music Teacher at The Learning Institute Charter High School.
