- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is not complicated. To hire me as an investigator it is minimum of $200.00 for the preliminary investigation which actually solves most cases and sometimes gets them served as well. if other people are needed to participate in the investigation and we need to pay them then we collect that.. Services requiring additional funds would be surveillance, certain asset information, specialized phone research, etc. It really depends on the direction of the case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is not required to be a PI in Arizona. However, it is required to serve process. I take 10 hours per year to maintain my process server license. I do take classes to learn new techniques and methods to progress as an investigator. But are they are not required.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I went to school and became a paralegal and learned I was good at finding defendants and witnesses. I prepared the documents, found the defendants plus people to serve them, and then found the assets to pay the judgments. I gained years of experience with law firms and at a very large HOA management company. I had great mentors. One day I decided I wanted to get my own license as an agency. I was very fortunate that I had employers and professionals that wrote letters for me addressed to the Arizona Department of Public Safety that documented my experience. Plus the personal letters of recommendation that was required. The requirement for a Private Investigation Agency License is 6,000 hours or 3 years full time of investigation experience documented by employers.
