  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I wouldn't say the pricing is complicated as it is calculated. There are so many things that are calculated in pricing out services for planning any event. For instance I can charge by the hour but I find in most cases it's easier just package all services together and give a flat fee. This makes it easier for the client to keep track of expenditures. For smaller events an hourly rate works better, just because of the amount of time it takes to deal with smaller groups of people the demand isn't has high.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    As far as the Wedding Planner piece goes,I took the experience of my own wedding. When I got married I had no idea what I was doing and I didn't have anyone to help guide me or give me ideas. I wasn't one of those little girls that had sweet dreams of her wedding day. My family was at odds with the idea of me getting married and in the end I went to Vegas. It was just me my fiance(husband) and his parents. He wanted the big wedding but I had no idea how to put one together. Through out the years I have helped other family members with their weddings. I was most inspired by my favorite aunt who planned her own wedding. But on her wedding day she found that her fiance was still married. I was elected to go with another aunt to dismantle all of her hard work. When I saw everything that went into this wedding and the heartache of taking it apart. I thought to myself she could really use a wedding planner to take care of all of this. Years later I had the pleasure of planning and coordinating my sister's wedding which turned out perfect! From there I enrolled in school to learn how the professionals do it, so I can provide the best service and help other brides make their day as special as it should be.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Ask a lot of questions, and try to have a budget prepared. Budgets help give planners like me a good starting point. Since I work with so many professionals once I get the budget I can compile the best resources that will fit the budget which will save time.
