My childs 1st birthday cake did not turn out good at all. I am very disappointed in the quality of the cake. No one finished eating the cake. I had many complaints from my guests about the cake (this was a 6 layercake so each layer was different in texture) being too dense, undercooked, tasted like chemicals, and had no flavor of the marble cake that I ordered. The smash cake however tasted much better it was not marble only chocolate. My husband had a taste of the smash cake and told me there was a huge difference between the two cakes I have pictures of the cakes too there is definitely a difference just looking at the cakes. Amanda is very artistic but when it comes to the quality of the cake it was a disappointment and I was embarrassed when my guests did not like the cake at all. Here was a beautiful looking cake that we couldn't eat . I asked Amanda for a partial refund and she refused to give it to me instead she was justifying on the amount of time and work that was put into the cake and she felt that the price was fair. Let me talk a little bit more about the price of the cake when I asked how much a specific type of cake that I wanted would cost she gave me a price for the cake that was her price and did not mention in the email that it was a "discounted" price there were no coupons or promotions going on. when I picked up the cake I was talking to her about my upcoming trip to New York and I wanted to get a cake in NY and I knew it was going to be expensive given the location and having the best top rated Baker's there with many years of experience. now that I'm making a complaint about the quality of the cake she is saying that she gave me a "discounted" rate comparing it to other companies but she never mentioned to me in email to this "discounted" rate prior to ordering the cake. she is a rookie at this and that why her prices maybe lower than most. As an unsatisfied customer she should be honoring a partial refund She was not accommodating at all. I do not recommend this place spend your money somewhere else it's not worth it.

Hi Heather, as I explained, the two cakes were from the exact same batch of cake batter and everything was made from scratch except for the fondant and strawberry gel. You've complained that the cake was too spongy, then too dense, then underbaked, then not moist enough.- you can see how contradictory that sounds. You also said in your first message that one guest thought it tasted like chemical and did not finish, then in your second message said that nobody did. And since your cake was already made at a discounted rate, yes, we are unable to refund your money but would like to reiterate our offer for 25% off your next purchase with us. Thank you for the feedback .

Absolutely ADORE Baby Jane's Custom Cakes and its owner, Amanda!! I requested some last minute cupcakes with emojis resembling the birthday boy (my cat in his favorite top hat) and I was definitely not disappointed. Not only were the emojis and presentation of the pastries spot on, but the punctuality of the delivery made it all worthwhile. Little man was getting restless with all the guests and upon seeing Amanda personally arrive and deliver his treats, he immediately calmed down and dug in (as you can see by the photo). Tatum had a blast and his 3rd birthday would NOT have been complete without the assistance and precision of Baby Jane's. Tatum and I will definitely be bringing our business back to Amanda and her lovely company soon! THANKS AGAIN :D

We as a couple wanted to give someone passionate and dedicated a chance to design a cake for our wedding. To say we were impressed every step of the way is an understatement. Amanda was professional, fair, timely, creative and open to our ideas. Since this was our first and last wedding we had a ton of ideas, colors and flavors bouncing around in our heads and Amanda helped make sense of them and exceeded our expectations of what we envisioned.I would regret if I didnt say, our wedding had many things go wrong but, Amanda, who was the youngest and newest business owner was the ONE person who did exactly as promised. Seriously the best cake I have ever eaten! I hired Baby Jane's to make my friends Bridal shower cake since I went with her to her cake tasting. We had 3 different venues have some type of natural disaster and almost had to cancel the whole shower entirely and she was so understanding and was able to still get the cake done when I called back short notice to see if I could still get the cake after putting a hold on my order. I wish I knew about Baby Jane's when I got Married because the cake I ordered for the Bridal shower was exactly what I wanted and more! She is so talented with not only the design of the cakes but the taste as well. You will not be disappointed if you choose Baby Jane's!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing starts at $6 per slice for buttercream cake designs and $8 per slice for fondant cake designs. Decorated cookies start at $60 per dozen. All of our other dessert items are priced individually and the menu can be found on our website!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way to get started is to send us an email! Let us know what you are looking for, when you need it by, and how many guests you are wanting to feed. Sending photos of your ideas is always helpful! Then we can give an accurate quote. If this works for you, we will work out the final details and send an invoice to your email.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started taking cake decorating classes in high school and realized that this is my passion! I studied Baking and Pastry Arts at Johnson and Wales University in Denver where I got my degree and began working in bakeries downtown. After a couple of years, I decided to move home to Arizona and start my own business!
