Introduction: Instead of a traditional "book and ruler" lesson, I provide an engaging alternative. My lessons are altered to fit different styles of learner! Think about it, if you are a hands-on learner, pointing at a book will not interest you or cater to your understanding. I combine a variety of teaching methods that accommodate each style of learning and incorporate my own - making each session educational, fun and engaging for all types of learners!
Watching my students learn something new. Their eyes light up and their drive strengthens! Nothing is more rewarding than witnessing their "ahh-ha moment," and watching their newfound skills unfold.

I am 55 years old and have wished I could play a musical instrument since I was a kid. Unfortunately, for 54 years, I didnt have the attention span or ambition to work towards this goal. 7 months ago I began weekly piano lessons with Miss Kat. Each week Kat has recognized my effort, encouraged me to keep up my ambition and practice, practice... I sound better every day and that makes me happy! Every week I look forward to my next lesson! Miss Kat is an excellent teacher and someday I will feel Im a good enough player to say I have achieved my lifetime goal of becoming a musician.

Katheryn gave my daughter voice lessons. She had a trouble with tone and was embarrassed about singing around her friends. Katheryn helped a lot and my daughter absolutely loved her. I would recommend her to anyone!

Katheryn does a great job working with the different learning styles of my boys. She keeps them engaged and is animated and enthusiastic with them.

I'm taking singing lessons with Katheryn. I'm an adult. Her enthusiasm really shows, and her explanations are thorough and colorful. She's very knowledgeable about music theory and practice. She's responsive and dynamic in class, always giving feedback and adjusting the lesson to keep me progressing and learning. If I'm not getting something, she'll take the time to go over it in different ways until it makes sense; she makes a great effort to make sure that I understand what I'm doing. She regularly ties music that I like into the lessons and take-home practice, too. Each session is very fun, and at the same time I feel like I'm learning a lot throughout the entire lesson. The time flies by, but feels well-spent, and I'm always looking forward to next time.
