- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For my standard service that includes a "get to know you" session, where we get to know each other, gather information for the service and possibly see the venue. I then design your ceremony and have you preview it. I arrive at least 45 min prior to your wedding, check in with the bride and groom (this is when payment is due) and then officiate your service. After signing the marriage license I depart (approx 1/2 hr after the wedding). This service is $300 and includes a rehearsal if requested. I do commitment ceremonies, renewal of vows and handfastings as well. For a short notice wedding without preplanning, my charge is $125. There is an additional mileage charge if outside the Phoenix metro area.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am usually contacted by one of the people directly involved with the ceremony and arrange to meet with those involved at a comfortable, informal meeting to gather information for the ceremony. We take the time to establish a comfortable conversation and address some of the overwhelming questions regarding the process. Together we decide the elements to be included and the details of the ceremony. If help with vows or readings are requested, I forward suggestions via email. I create a ceremony uniquely for the couple and reassure them that only two things need to happen --- they need to both show up and they both need to say "I Do" and all the else will fall into place. BREATHE is usually the first thing I say to the couple when they get to the altar. We all relax and get to enjoy the day. (Oh yes, there are usually tears and that is a good thing). I try to offer reassurance and help reduce the stress related to a big day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before I was ordained I had spent most of my life involved with organized religion and was chosen to help with many ceremonies. I developed a passion for helping people celebrate key points in their lives with celebration. I continue to take classes in spiritual leadership and workshops for my personal growth. I have over 25 years experience in dealing directly with counseling and service.
