FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by the half-hour, but often give 5-15 extra minutes as my gift of time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will email you with a student attendance and tuition policy and set up a lesson time for [parents and] students. I'll buy the first set of books (so you have the appropriate ones) and you pay the cover price plus tax at the first lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
20 years of private piano and organ lessons, including university music education major. My mother was a piano teacher (my first teacher), and I often checked student homework books or taught as substitute for her when she was ill. I've been a church musician since I was nine years old, and have accompanied soloists, choirs, congregational singing, etc., since 1976, and have played preludes, offertories, postludes, and "special music" on solos countless occasions. In addition to piano and organ solo work, I've spent years playing in contemporary praise teams.
