About

Hello! My name is Laura Hunter and I am the owner and instructor of Hunters' Music Studio. I have been teaching for over 20 years and I have a Bachelor of Music as well as a Master of Music degree. I am a Christian instructor and teach with a great deal of knowledge and integrity. I am a very kind and encouraging instructor and believe in challenging each and every student. My students improve at a rapid pace. I believe classical music is the foundation of piano. We will also work on other genres including pop. I include scales, sight reading, ear-training and theory...these are all extremely important and are the fundamentals of piano. I believe in teaching "to" the student, instead of "at" the student. Each individual student has different needs, desires and goals. I work diligently to help each and every one achieve their own goals as well as aspire to set new goals. I teach all ages as well as levels beginning through advanced. I also specialize in music literature...and will select the correct music to help you grow not only musically but technically as well. I am a very passionate teacher and enjoy teaching all levels and all ages of students. I like to make the lessons fun and enjoyable! Simply by studying music...we improve in every area of our lives.

We have only been with Miss Laura for about a month but as of now our experience is wonderful. The way she interacts with my daughter who is 6 is perfect! She is teaching her piano and voice and I was a little hesitant putting my daughter into this at her age but I am extremely happy we found Hunters Music Studio. I am very with my choice

Laura was extremely professional, friendly, and responded to my inquiry promptly. She immediately welcomed me into the studio with an easy demeanor that helped me feel comfortable. During my first lesson, she assessed my knowledge, technical skills, and ability to read and understand the music and notations. She was very patient as she observed me struggle to figure things out and play quite badly. She gave me homework that has been challenging and will definitely help me improve my understanding and skills as I play. Laura is also available for questions throughout the week and has consistently responded to my messages within minutes.

I don’t even know where to start. Miss Hunter is a stern teacher yet sweet and kind. She knows how to connect with my daughter who adores her. She is very patient and explains things in a child friendly way. These are truly lessons and no “playing around” classes. She is very professional and holds her students to a high standard. Miss Hunter demands and gives respect. She produces results. We love her!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is a one-time registration fee of 65.00. An administration fee of 75.00 is due every January. Fees vary for the recitals and performances.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I encourage new and beginning students. I am very encouraging and helpful, my students improve at a very rapid pace! I am available for help anytime...not just during our lessons. I desire for each and every student of to be successful as they embark on their journey of music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music as well as a Master of Music degree. I have been singing and playing the piano my entire life, and come from a family of musicians. I have been performing for over 35 years. I have been a piano and vocal instructor for 21 years and have taught at the University level as well as private instruction.
