FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a very clear fee structure: $ 195 for max 2 hours and $ 295 for max 4 hours. Beyond that I ad 2hrs increments. No hidden extra's, no travel expenses etc. Only when travel exceeds a total of 2 hours I charge this at 50% and extra materials desired, will be pro-rated 1:1 and will be clearly mentioned on the offer. First time customers I always give a 10% discount on the base (DJ) fee and loyal customers can save up to even 100% discount! Example: you want me to play for 3 hours. Than the base-fee is 295. If you require no specific extra’s (typical DJ gear I obviously bring in) , but I travel in total for 3hrs, I will ad 1,5hrs (50%) to the time ‘on site’. That makes a total of 4.5hrs. As this is more than 4, I typically charge my 4hrs + 2hrs fees, which will make 295 + 195 = 490 total. When travelling is up to 2hrs it stays at 295. Be informed that, although you want a DJ playing for say just an hour, we need to be there in advance to set-up gear, connect with you and we have to break down again. An hour playing can typically take up to 2-3 hours (before-playing-after)...
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
See my website for a very clear lay out of that. In short: I have excellent customer service and always spent the necessary time at the start of the hiring to either meet with you or call with you (or both) to discuss all the ins & outs of the event. Do you decide to continue with me, I will stay in touch with you by email, to tweak with you the playlist and other necessary details. See me as a DJ with 'event-planning skills' (which I actually have done for years as well ;-) ). In this way you can be sure I do what you want and sure about what you get!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Where shall I start: I grew up in a music loving family in the seventies, was a witness of the rise of disco and house music in the eighties and nineties, had the benefit of living in the number one country for House music and DJ's in the world (The Netherlands) and saw many now famous DJ's when they where still young and starting their career. After having this all witnessed myself, having worked in (corporate) event planning and always been inspired by this music scene, I decided to follow classes at the Amsterdam DJ School and followed my own path as a DJ & Producer.
