Chris is a very professional, personable and efficient worker. He definitely takes pride in his business and goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done to his satisfaction. There were some tough stains in our carpet and he worked on them until they were not noticeable. Other carpet cleaners would have said "oh, that's the best they will get". He called when he was on his way, as we asked, he was timely, explained his cleaning process to us and got right at the job. We would highly recommend Chris' Quick Dry to anyone needing carpet cleaned! We will be calling him again when we are ready to do the rest of the house!

I had Ultimate Floor Care come to my home to clean 4 bedrooms. The owner/tech was on time, pleasant and fast. He did a great job and in a little over an hour my carpets looked like new. It was amazing. I didn't get that result with the last carpet cleaner I had. The price was right and now I know I don't have to look up carpet cleaners in the future when I need one.

scheduled our service for the next day. quote was for $100 for entire house with 2 workers. Unfortunately was not told of additional add on fees if needing heavier pretreatment due to pets or high traffic areas. After examining the carpet was told it would be $250. 😲 I could have supplied them with pictures prior so the $150 extra would not have been such a shock. I would suggest asking more detailed questions before quoting and online price to give consumers I better experience. We did go ahead with the carpet cleaners and were satisfied.

Amazing job on carpets. I've never had carpet stream cleaned; we've always used chem-dri. So glad I tried steaming. Robert did exactly what he said he would (removed stains, fluffed up carpet and made it look SUPER clean). He is polite, very accommodating and thorough. The work he did shows his pride and confidence in his company.

I have used several carpet cleaners in the past. But NONE like Armando. He has the best equipment and it is super clean. He got out stains previous carpet cleaners had not. I could not believe the work he did for the price we paid. I have already handed out his business cards to family. We love Armando and will only use him from now on.

We'd have REN Cleaning Service come back in a heartbeat! They did a great job and I am stunned by how dramatic the difference is in my carpets! I have used several different carpet cleaners in the past, but these are the guys I would recommend, my carpets look brand new again!

Noelle did a fantastic job on cleaning our house. I was able to schedule with her on short notice, she came on time, and she was very professional. There was a dog hair everywhere and she left everything looking freshly cleaned even making our bed, folding the ends of the toilet paper in the bathrooms, cleaning our appliances and baseboards, and even moved furniture in order to clean everywhere in the floor. I will definitely hire her again. One of my best finds on thumbtack :)

Jessie's and crew were prompt in both the initial meeting and with schedule work to be completed. They cleaned a 2,500 Sqft of office space including carpet and VCT tile that had not been cleaned in several years (4+) due to the building being vacant and turned it into a great usable space with their deep corner cleaning, stripping of tile and carpet cleaning as promised. They will be retained for future work at this space and our other buildings. Great Job

ClearPro did an excellent job cleaning my carpets. Very professional and friendly. I had my garage door worked on the day after I had my carpets cleaned, and the workman tracked in heavy black grease onto my newly cleaned carpets! I called ClearPro and they sent Robert right out. It was amazing that he got that heavy black grease out, he was a miracle worker.

The cleaning was amazing. Sunrise Chem-dry wasn't the cheapest quote I got but it definitely was worth it. I used a carpet cleaner last year and my carpets were wet for 2 days and most the spots came back. So this is why I decided to try something different and paid a littler more. It's true what they say you pay for what you get.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to carpet a bedroom?

If you’re building a new home, remodeling, or ready for new carpet in your bedroom, you’ll want to know carpet installation costs. Here are the factors that affect the cost of your new bedroom carpet:

  • Installation cost per square yard: From under $2 to over $6. Carpet companies have a labor cost per square foot for installing your new carpet. Depending on where you live in the country, that rate can vary greatly. This rate does not include the cost of the carpet.
  • Type of carpet: from $1 per square foot to $20 or more per square foot. The fibers that make up your carpet will have a direct effect on cost. As an example, specialty wool carpets may start at about $10 per square foot, while a manufactured fiber like nylon may be about $2 per square foot.
  • Removal of old carpet: from $1 to $4 per square yard. Old carpet is labor-intensive to remove and also costs money to dispose of or recycle. The cost to remove carpet will depend on how much carpet you need removed and whether your installation pros offer a discounted rate for installing your new carpet at the same time.
  • Subfloor repair: from $40 to $70 per hour (plus materials cost). If the flooring underneath your old carpet is damaged, it must be repaired before the new carpet is installed. Many carpet pros can offer this service, or you can hire a handyman to handle the job.
  • Type of carpet pad: $1 per square yard and up, depending on the thickness. The cost to install carpet pad is typically included with the labor cost per yard of installing the carpet itself.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.
