Piano Lessons (for children or teenagers)
Connor is an excellent piano instructor. He is very professional and considerate. He has a great rapport with my 7 year-old-son who looks forward to his lessons. Connor is knowledgeable, encouraging, and my son makes progress every week. I would strongly recommend Connor to anyone interested in learning piano.Oct 16, 2016Verified
True to his word, Connor teaches piano in a manner that seems to be significantly accelerating my daughter's knowledge, skills, and abilities on the piano. He demonstrates his proficiency in everything that he exposes my child to; whether it be music theory, proper technique, or simply something as small as how to sit properly on a piano bench. He is constantly telling my daughter, "you make good habits now so you don't have to break bad habits later!". If you give him even 10 minutes of your time, you would see that Connor Chee is not just someone trying to make a few bucks on the side peddling an amateur level of piano knowledge. It is clear right from the start that you are working with a true professional, offering a lifetime worth carefully crafted skills! I am not someone who generally writes reviews for things online since opinions are so subjective. But he absolutely deserves it, because it's clear that he has earned this level of respect. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.Aug 24, 2016Verified
Connor is fantastic. I have a hectic work schedule and he is very accomidating with lesson times. He is very patient and encouraging. He is also very responsive with texts when you are practicing a piece and have quick questions. Definitely recommend Connor!Jul 24, 2018

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 1-hour lessons. My lessons are a fixed monthly price, which takes into account holidays and vacations. I teach in your home, or in mine. If you need a different payment plan, I'm happy to discuss options that work for you! I also occasionally have promotional offers. Students can also earn free lessons by referring new students that sign up. Books are not included, but are very affordable, and many scores are available online (legally) for free!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first lesson, we cover what your personal goals are, and start to evaluate your learning style. From here, we can choose the type of music you want to learn, the concepts you need to cover in lessons, and the repertoire that will give you a well-rounded background in music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Starting in the fourth grade, I attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, where I graduated with a certificate in instrumental music. I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and earned my Master of Music in Piano from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. I also attended the Chautauqua Institution's summer piano program twice. I have taken courses in Piano Pedagogy at both the undergraduate and graduate level. I also taught class piano at the Eastman School of Music and University of Rochester.
