I have a sense of humor while getting to know couples and helping them plan a personalized and memorable wedding. My over 30 years' experience as pastor and wedding officiant brings a calming presence to what can be a stressful time. Creating something beautiful with and for couples is my desire.
I enjoy meeting people and helping them discover the words and rituals for the commitments they want to make to one another. All couples, whether religious or not, have values that are important to them to be expressed in their ceremony. I do my best to discover these values to create a personalized ceremony.

Ron responded very quickly to our request to talk about him officiating us. We had to get married quickly as I was joining the military but regardless of your situation I would highly recommend Ron if you are getting married. He was very professional, friendly, and his additional anecdotes made the ceremony feel that much more special. Thanks Ron! :)

Ron did an absolutely fabulous job. From the get go he responded quickly and made the ceremony so personalized! He got to know the bride and groom so the ceremony was very personal with a just the right amount of humor mixed in. He took his time and never rushed us after the ceremony (it was hot too!) He was everything you would hope for in a weddingofficiant.

Ron was absolutely amazing. Not only was he a pleasure to work with, but he created a ceremony that my husband and I will forever treasure. When we met Ron we explained to Ron what we were looking for in a ceremony and how important it was for the ceremony to be a reflection of my husband and I's relationship. Ron nailed it. He wrote this beautiful ceremony that kept me in tears for a good chunk of the ceremony :) In fact, one of our family members commented that she had attended at least thirty weddings in her day, and ours had by far the best ceremony. He was thorough, he worked well with us and was very prompt and responsive to all questions. I highly recommend Ron. He was amazing.

We truly appreciated Ron's dedicated, professional, yet personal approach to officiating our ceremony. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My base price is $220. The base price includes two planning sessions, the wedding day, and signing then sending the marriage license to the proper authorities.
Attending and/or running a rehearsal is an additional $50. Help with writing vows adds $25.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first meeting usually takes place at a coffee shop as a get to know you time, as well as a time for me to hear your hopes for your wedding. After the first meeting, I work on a draft of the ceremony, considering your wishes. Email addresses and phone numbers are exchanged to be in touch as plans are made.
The second meeting usually takes place at the wedding venue if I am participating in the rehearsal. We would also go over the ceremony draft at that time and I would make adjustments and changes as necessary.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of arts degree in English literature and a masters of divinity degree. I am ordained in two Christian denominations. I have served as a pastor in churches in Charlottesville, Virginia, then in Glendale, Peoria and Phoenix, Arizona. Listed on Thumbtack as a wedding officiant since 2013.
