FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Yes, you can hire a professional weeding service or a lawn and yard care company to pull weeds. But before you hire a weed controller, do your research. Compare several companies’ ratings and customer reviews online, and ask for free cost estimates from several professionals. Note that weeding pros will likely need a license if they’re going to apply pesticides.

I hired him to kill my weeds. He managed to decapitate my wife's flower bed, spray something on my yard that doesn't kill weeds, and then tell me to wait 2 weeks, and then tell me I needed weed barrier. I can't put down the weed barrier because the guy I hired to kill the weeds didn't kill the weeds. Stopped responding to messages.

Did a flawless job HAND WEEDING my rock yard at my special request. Weeds were waist high in spots. Also removed aloe Vera plants that I wanted removed, and sprayed to prevent new weeds. Left the yard weed-free and spotless. Very thorough job, I am pleased.

The backyard was overwhelmed with weeds after I was not able to keep up with it due to a knee injury. Now I have a clean slate.

Adam responded to my request for weed removal quickly and arranged to come out to my property the same day. He and his coworker Andrew efficiently removed all of the big weeds and about 99% of the tiny weeds from my rock-covered front yard the bare dirt areas of my backyard in about three hours. A nice finishing touch was blowing leaves and debris off of my artificial grass area and patios.

Maurice was excellent he came on time let me know he was here did an awesome job I have no weeds. He did such a great job that I'm hiring you to come once a month if you want a good strong weeding service I recommend these people!

I really wanted to give a good review considering he seemed so genuine on the phone. I'm giving two stars because he did
take down the weeds. However, a lot of scraps were left unraked, there was garbage left in the yard, and worst of all my recycle bin was left over loaded with weeds. He said that he would come back to take it away but ended up ghosting me. Considering that I can't put a recycle bin full of weeds out on the curb, I had to dump it all out and bag the weeds myself. I would absolutely be cautious and ensure that you're able to inspect the work before they leave.

Mario and his team did an excellent job! My backyard was full of really thick weeds, he got them all out and sprayed the backyard. It’s been a week and no weeds have came out despite it raining! Will definitely be contacting again if I need him in the future for any yard work in the future.

Our backyard has been very neglected, with a couple spots of weeds that were about 5 feet tall, so pretty bad. CN Innovations came and did a very thorough job with our weeds and bushes, it’s a total transformation! They were extremely communicative and friendly, would absolutely recommend to anyone needing yard maintenance!
