I set up a surprise drum lesson with Joe Costello for my husbands birthday. Joe worked with our crazy schedule even when we had to reschedule. He was patient with me and answered all my questions. My husband said Joe adapted to his skill level and quickly figured out how to best use their time. Also the sound system setup was loud and clear. He was friendly and gave my husband confidence.

Natasha, thx so much for the kind words. To be honest, your husband will be someone I call to sub for me in the future if he's interested. He is better then both of you might realize ;)

Excellent! Joe is very responsive and flexible. He is an active drummer who is hip but yet very experienced. My son loves working with him. Additionally he will reduce stress by coming to your house for lessons. Could not be happier.

Joe has been my sons drum teacher for several years. Joe is extremely talented, organized, patient, professional, and encouraging. My son looks forward to his weekly lessons with Joe. Since working with Joe, my son's drumming skills have improved, along with his drive to learn.

Joe has been fantastic to learn from. He is an extremely talented drummer himself which is very motivating for me. Joe makes sure you master the basics but does so using fun exercises. He had me playing along with my first Green Day song in no time ... which is awesome. I highly recommend Joe as a teacher, its time I look forward to every week.

    Thanks Jeff!!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take lessons myself from time to time and I am constantly reviewing new ideas, exersices and techniques on YouTube and other drum related sites.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Very simply... 1/2 lesson fee and a 1 hour lesson fee. If I come to your home, a 1 hour lesson is the minimum plus I charge a $10 travel fee.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It has happened over time. People would see me out performing and come up to me and ask if I would teach them. I was also approached by schools to hold drum clinics to encourage the music students to follow their dreams.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I mainly teach lessons in my studio or at my student's home.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently held a free drum clinic sponsored by my endorsement companies Boso drumsticks, Bosphorus cymbals and KickPort International. I was my 4th clinic but only my first as an endorsed drummer. It was a proud moment.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You need someone with a breath of knowledge and can teach beginners up to advanced. Patience is very important especially when working with younger students and beginners.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I am a college trained musician and I have gained all my experiences being a live playing professional musician. I'm not just book smart but street smart as well.
