Lindsay L. says, "We hired Magical Meals to cook an anniversary dinner for us. It was easy to book. the menu was 100 percent customizable and he gave great recommendations. We ended up having a mexican meal with empanadas, chips and salsa, rice, roasted poblanos, enchiladas and amazing chocolate mousse. Each course had its own special delicious spin. The tamales were made with phyllo, the rice had veggies. cranberries and pistachios, homemade pita chips with one of the best salsas I have ever tasted! Our side of just simple roasted poblano peppers was wonderful! We finished with chocolate mousse with cherries, pistachios, cashew butter and honey! The meal was a 10/10. The ingredients were top quality, clean, healthy and the meal was amazing. if you need a private chef, don't look any further!"See more

Sam L. says, "Absolutely fantastic experience with chefs Cody and Chris for my mother’s 60th birthday! Both chefs were incredibly personable, professional, and genuinely friendly, making the evening feel special from start to finish. The menu was exquisite - starting with a delightful cauliflower and shrimp appetizer, followed by a rich butternut squash bisque. The main course featured perfectly cooked salmon, and the evening concluded with a carrot cake for dessert. They even crafted a unique twist on the classic old fashioned as our signature drink, which was a hit among all the guests. Their service was top-notch, and we couldn’t have asked for a better culinary experience to celebrate such a milestone. Highly recommend Common Hospitality for anyone looking to add an exceptional touch to their special event."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
