Rachael was phenomenal. She kept me informed of what was going to happen the entire way through, and Chelsea, the woman who actually walked my dogs, was delightful. I will *absolutely* use AZ Mama Bear again.

She was simply Amazing! Very careful & patient with my dog even though he can be a bit stubborn. She removed tons of shedding, washed him thoroughly, and cleaned up everything as if nothing ever happened. I highly recommend her!

We used Bee Professional Pet Services for the first time and we were not disappointed!! The Services are fairly priced and highly personalized. She even has a 25 minute Dog walk for a cheeper price when adding to daily visits. Brin is also highly trained; her skills were showing as soon as she entered our home. We have 2 pitbull mixes and 3 cats. We've received daily check-in messages and pictures. Brin also left us with a daily logged notebook and folder that stays witg us for next time. Every special request was made! She even showed up 10 minutes early! I highly recommend Bee Professional Pet Services

Lyndee has watched my dogs twice in the last couple months. When I interviewed her we knew right away she was the one to take care of my dogs. I will continue to hire her in the future She stayed the night with my dogs and completely trustworthy. She sent me emails to keep me updated on how my dogs were doing. Now I can go out of town and not worry about Mr Knuckles and Sadie. Thank you so much!

She was incredible with my dog (toy poodle). So loving and treated her as if she owned her. Let my dog sleep with her and what I really liked was that she paid attention to the diet I had outlined. Some people don't care what they feed your dog. Also, my dog had to have 2 insulin shots daily. She handled that perfectly! I would hire her any time, such a relief to know that your dog is in very good care while your care, however I live out of state

Rise and Shine is the absolutely best for pet sitting. They take such good care of my two dogs when I travel. They not only make sure the dogs have food and water, but they play and cuddle, take walks (even helping my bigger pooch with his walking manners!), and check on the house. I have great peace of mind when I'm away knowing my dogs are in such loving hands.

When Kristie lived in Minnesota she watched, trained, bathed, gave my dog his medications, and walked, my Great Dane for many years. She is very reliable and treats every dog like her own. Dogs are truly her passion and I would not hesitate to have her help you with yours.

Lisa is hands down the best dog/pet/ house sitter we have ever hired. I trust her completely with my house and my pets! She is professional and keeps detailed notes of your instructions and her experiences while you're away. Lisa goes the extra mile and takes time to note things like your dog's favorite place to pet, favorite place and toys in the house. I never worry about taking my human family out of town when Lisa is available to watch my 2 dogs and 1 cat! My family is so busy, and with an infant at home, travel is always difficult enough. It is wonderful to have the peace of mind and know my boys are happy! I think Lisa pays more attention to them... than we are able to on a regular day! They sure are glad to see her every time.

Yes, Mark is my brother. :) He has always been wonderful with animals. He treats dogs with patience and kindness, yet he is firm when he needs to be. He works well with both my 16 yr old Lab and 6 yr old Golden. He is also very reliable and trustworthy. He will do a great job with your precious pup. I highly recommend him.

About

I'm seeking people who need their pets walked and taken care of on a day-to-day bases. I'm usually available in the mornings or in the evenings.

About

I work at Walgreens as a clerk. I do pet sitting on the side for my extra interest and income. I have been dog sitting since I was a teenager. Dogs are my favorite type of animal. They are a added joy in my life, and without any interaction with them, I feel not as happy with myself, and life is not as much fun.

About

We are reliable and trustworthy dog walkers who have over 10 years of pet compassion. We provide the peace of mind you need when your companion is out getting its exercise. Please text or leave a voicemail. Thank you.

About

I do a good job cleaning your house and am really fast. I am really good with pets. I can babysit too.

About

I love all animals. When you're gone, they still need tender loving care, exercise, and someone who cares.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

  • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
  • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
  • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
  • What are your different walk routes?
  • When will you pick up and drop off?
  • How will we communicate?
  • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
  • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
  • How and how often do I pay you?
  • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
