BlueStarr is a great place to train. The instructors are experienced and well versed in Jiu Jitsu and other forms of Martial arts. Sadiq is a true master of his craft and a great instructor. Carlin,James,Julio are the instructors of the classes I normally attend. They are great at what they do as well. It’s a welcoming environment, black belts, purple belts all of them are there to help me in my growth and progress.

I started training at Bluestarr in July 2020. At that time I was close to 250 lbs and unable to lose the weight using traditional methods, e.g. running, weight training, etc. As a Marine veteran I pride myself on my fitness but nothing seemed to work anymore. From day 1, Sadiq and Dana made me feel like family and welcomed me. Starting as an adult in a grappling gym can seem intimidating. The other adults have been doing this for a while, and usually the kids are tough as nails. While this certainly applies at Bluestarr it was obvious that there was a culture here that embraced an inclusive environment and everyone lives by that. Sadiq keeps it fresh by incorporating numerous grappling arts in the training sessions including BJJ, judo, wrestling, and sambo. During the kids classes he has a way of incorporating relevant games that keep the kids engaged and learning. I'm just under 2 years in and I'm down to 211 lbs, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I'm loving it more and more everyday.

Bluestarr is a great place to learn grappling and self defense. Professor Sadiq and Professor Julio's attention to detail in the martial art allow for you or your child to learn efficient grappling in a short period of time. It is a family atmosphere but not without intense training sessions to prepare you whether you are just learning, competing or made to fight for your life in a real life scenario. Bluestarr helps to build confidence and character. For all ages!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do not charge admin fees, we provide family discounts and discounts for personal session packages. Our pricing is very affordable for all members of the family.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know a client and their goals and having professionalism as well as honesty and transparency in what is needed to reach these goals. Our first 1-2 weeks we get to know your fitness level and we adjust wherever needed to keep you moving and making forward progress. You go at your own pace with the encouragement to start challenging yourself. We find out what you like and what motivates you to train, we set up goals and track your progress. There is plenty accountability options if it’s desired.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been a certified personal trainer for 10 plus years and well as a Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt 3rd degree. I ran professional track(sprinter) played football as high as a professional level. Golden gloves boxer. Mentor and coaching 20 plus years.
