FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a tiered pricing system that takes into consideration, three areas: The first is the budget of the organization or individual who is approaching me for work. I believe that everyone can benefit from good design, and so I price my services according to my clients ability to pay. This allows more people to access my skillets for their projects. Secondly I charge based on the training and experience I will have to leverage for a project. If you need help fleshing out a business plan and then building a brand around that plan, you will be charged more per hour than if you want me to take a sketch you have done and clean it up to create a logo for your business. Lastly, I will greatly discount my work if I believe that the project will benefit the community in a substantial way. If you visit my website you will see a place to apply for pro-bono design work. I give up to 4 hours per week of my time to people who are making a difference in their communities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recently attended graduate school at Carnegie Mellon to round out my design background. I studied the importance of business and production in any project. Even the smallest businesses can benefit from a little business insight, and knowing the ins and outs of production helps keep costs down, and deadlines met.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was working with a larger conglomerate to research how 20-30 year olds use their kitchen spaces. The goal was to create products to cater to there specific needs. Diving into the research opened up new insights and innovations that drove the project into a completely unexpected and novel direction. I am always delighted when we can line up the needs of the client and the needs of the customer in ways that everyone is very well taken care of.
