I love to work with people of all ages on learning and perfecting music. I enjoy helping people who might have started when they were children or teenagers and then want to return as adults. I also have a very good track record with students in middle school and high school, being very competitive in their school groups and honor groups -- such as regional and all-state orchestras. I have had a number of students go on to success as college music majors. For my vocal and string students, the fact that I am an accomplished accompanist is very much to their benefit as they have the advantage of having an accompanist on call without a lot of additional expense. I feel comfortable working with beginning students through very advanced students, and I really encourage performance and community involvement with my students.
I enjoy making music accessible to all who are interested. My students give me a sense of accomplishment as they reach their musical goals, whether it is an adult who plays their first recital, or is able to perform with their community orchestra, or a student who is selected for a special honor in their musical group. I like to bring fun performance music that people may not have heard before but find enjoyable to perform. I enjoy performing, and I enjoy bringing the love of music to all.

I have only had one lesson, but when she explained the difference between major and minor chords, for the first time I actually "got it"! Looking forward to many more.

The violin guitar duo was a great idea for our outdoor wedding ceremony! Lali reached out to me with the idea when I had requested a project for a harp player. Although I am a bit bummed that I couldn't listen to their whole routine as I was getting ready indoors doing and last min preps before the ceremony. I was able to hear the song that the bridal party walked down the aisle to and the song I chose for me. All the guests complemented on how lovely the music was and that it was loud enough to hear. Lali was very responsive through email and was great about creating a timeline. They also have a wonderful song list to choose from.
The only con would be that they required shade, which is understandable, but there was limited shade where we were (kind of far and would of looked awkward) and we had to rent an umbrella for them. I would suggest that Lali invests in an umbrella for clients. Wedding vendors are already playing the nickel and dime game with the bride and groom and it would be nice to have to worry about one less thing.

I just started playing violin as a newly retired adult and Lali is the perfect teacher for me. She works with me on building a strong foundation, but also realizes my goals and works with me on achieving them. She is definitely devoted to what she does. Lali is stuck with me for awhile :)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have pricing for 30 min, 45 min and 60 min music lessons. When being hired as a performer, I usually have a 1 Hour minimum rate which varies dependent on the number of musicians being hired.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have a long experience with beginning, intermediate, and advanced children and adults in several different instruments. I need to access either their level of ability if they have learned music before -- or depending on age and other factors have to decide what courses and type of music we will work on. This process is very much based on the fact that I am used to the assessment process and do a good job of starting students in a comfortable place
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My mother and brother are both musicians --- so music was always around and as I gained more experience, I would sometimes accompany and teach my mother. With music, in several different disciplines and different styles being such a big part of my life for so many years, I feel equipped to help others find their way. I also studied voice, violin, viola and piano with other well- known and reputable teachers in the Los Angeles area and studied music at CSU Sacramento and Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles..
As a performer, I have worked in the Phoenix area for almost 20 years and before that in Los Angeles. My experience includes performing for over 1500 musical events such as weddings and parties, symphony orchestras, church organist and pianist, strolling violin and playing with duos, trios, quartets of different instrumentations. Currently, I have a violin-guitar duo, Cafe Stringz and we play a large variety of music, including Cajun and Irish Fiddling tunes, and International pop tunes.
