Introduction: Leadership without force! That means we do not use pain methods like shock collars to teach your dog or puppy. I do not use choke or pinch collars unless my clients insist. But even then, I do my best to get the dog off that equipment. I know a better way, that really works! I actually love what I do, I have passion for dogs and helping people to have a stronger relationship with their family dog(s). I teach things like how to be this "pack leader" that everyone talks about. Well... I have a secret, it's really not difficult once I teach you the simplistic techniques. I build on your current relationship with your dog, I'll teach you a more natural way to communicate or to talk with your dog. We'll capitalize on your dog's communication methods and use them just like your dog uses them. Every dog is unique, just like people, so finding the way he/she responds to best is one of the key ingredients . I'll show you how simple this really is. My training works on every dog however it is Not for every person. Why isn't it for every person? Well because you must do your homework and it takes some time on your part. Only 15 to 20 minutes twice a day for about 4 to 5 weeks. I'll explain more later... How it works.. First we talk on the phone or email and I'll send you detailed info and pricing. No guessing on pricing, no up charges for equipment either. After we talk and you read my information, I will meet with you in person at your home. Once there I'll go over my system in person. If you aren't comfortable with me or my system for any reason, just say thanks but no thanks. Or If I feel i can't help you, I will tell you and not take your money. This is how I run my business and it's worked very well for me for many years. If you do decide to use my services and move forward you get everything in writing. So again, no guess work, everything is upfront so you can compare my rates and services to others and have it in writing to reflect back on. I get to be around dogs and people all day! I help people become the leader of their pack, without using pain or fear.

After extended research we decided on using Gerard Raneri with Bark Busters Tucson Home Dog Training. He was very quick to call us back and seemed to be able to explain in detail how he could help us, as well as the options he offers. For example, they come to our home and our neighborhood train our dog (and us) They also do not use any choke, pinch or shock collars, no pain dog training. We have had dogs before but this dog was different for some reason we couldn't get a few of his bad behaviors turned around. He (Riley) is a 3 years old mixed breed about 60 lbs. very sweet and we just love this boy! The main issues we needed help with were his pulling on the leash, his jumped on everyone and barked at them. He also would not come when he was called! After our first lesson we saw an immediate improvement! The method and techniques Gerard taught us were easy and our dog caught on quicker then we did! Riley was sitting, staying, coming, and walking to heal all on the first lesson. Of course we had to keep working with him to break his bad habits as well as ours. One of the biggest things I learned was how I was reinforcing the behavior I didn't want. All this time I was sending the wrong message to my dog and Gerard saw that very quickly and showed us how to turn it around. I can say first hand that Gerard was always on time for our lessons and went above our expectation with training. Gerard took off more than he could chew when he met us!!! We have two enormous dogs--a Bouvier and an Old English Sheepdog. They are both gentle giants, but can be a bit much for me!! Gerard handles them individually and will also train them together. He is very creative with all of his methods. He provides constant updates via E-Mail so that I can have a review of what we have accomplished thus far. Gerard provides so much to me in between his visits. He gives me thorough guidance on how to reinforce the training and methods that I have watched him do during our visits. He places a strong emphasis on consistent home training. I agree with his philosophies. Initially, I was amazed at how well my dogs responded without Milk Bones. Gerard believes in treats as affection, but not as a reward for following commands. His wisdom and sense of humor make him the perfect fit for our family. I am giving Gerard and his business an Outstanding review for the reasons aforementioned.

I was having issues with my Labrador, with jumping on visitors, eating off the table, peeing in the house and many more. I contacted Gerard from Bark Busters and within the first week we beat half of our Labs habits. I recommend Gerard wholeheartedly.

I have use Gerard in training my two dogs. Both of my dog were very hyper as puppies. Gerard instructed me how to become the pack leader. He was meet me at parks, schools, home and work to train my dogs in all environments. Gerard takes his time in training the dogs and me, the alpha. I know I can call Gerard if I'm having any problems and he inform me how to handle it. My one dog is 5 years old chow/heeler mix, my other dog is a 10 month old Rottweiler. I won't have any other trainer. Gerard, thank you for training my dog to be two wonder pets.

Gerard helped me when I first adopted my rescue dog, Susie, at 3-1/2 years old. Gerard is one talented dog trainer! Susie learned to walk on a leash in about 7 minutes. Gerard is willing and able to continue helping me, as I need lots of training! Susie's 9 now.

What types of customers have you worked with?
I know our dogs are part of our family, that's why we always treat dogs with respect. We help with issues from aggression to potty training as well leash healing and off leash behavior. All basic and complex issues are welcome, we will never put a spike, pinch, shock or choke collar on your dog. In fact if you are using one now, let me show you how to train without the pain factor. We know you will feel better and so will your dog.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I suggest people look for information about the trainer outside of the trainers own website. Third party reviews such as google, yahoo, Bing and of course Thumbtack. Look for 3rd party reviews in the state that dog trainer actually trains. Also just google the trainers name and see what comes up. Angie's list is another great option.
