I hired Larry's Landscaping to do a complete makeover on my back yard and front side yard. He also included a complete clean up with new rock in the front of the house. I'm not sure if I can put into words what a fantastic job he and his partner did. Larry shared my vision for what I wanted done but did a much better job than ever expected!! They started March 15th and finished March 25th. My yard was an utter mess of overgrown weeds and unknown plants. They worked so hard clearing that all out and got to building the new landscaping. He knew the problems I had with flooding during monsoon season and fixed it. Jobs included a brick patio, artificial grass area, a waterfall, fire pit, a huge planter area for gardening and plants, taking down a tree and making a parking area and planting an orange tree with some plants, all new gravel rock and clean up of plants in the front. He even found me organic dirt for the garden. The transformation is beyond fantastic!!! They work so hard not wasting any time. Larry involves you in all decisions and they are so kind and professional. I have no doubt I chose the right company!! I will surely call him for all future projects. The pictures will speak for themselves.

I am a 16 year AD military member on Davis-Monthan. I was searching for an alternative to 1-800-Got-Junk. I read there reviews and they where way to pricey. I gave this application a try and Mr. Walter Gonzalo replied immediately and gave me a solid quote. He offered me services in under 24 hours. His workers Mr. Philippe and Davey where professional and quick. I had a hassle free experience getting them both on the base. So if you are looking for junk pick up or landscaping and you have a budget like me please look towards this company! I wish I knew about them sooner. Once again, I received no run around and got an immediate quote. 100% satisfied customer.

I loved working with Robert. The entire process was very quick and easy. I hired him to remove weeds in our yard and treat it for weed prevention. He was knowledgable about his products and answered all of the questions I had. I look forward to using him for all of my gardening/lawn care needs in the future.

We just had our irrigation replaced. It was 15 years old and "spaghetti" lines were petrifying--couldn't do anything with them; also, we wanted to cut down some by eliminating the garden and some pot lines. Monsoon Irrigation L.L.C. (Cody Perkins) did a great job, reasonable price, and left everything spic and span. We found them on Thumbtack.

I have tried numerous gardeners but this one is a keeper - The others either rarely showed up when scheduled or charged waaaaayyyyy to much. But this company is great - I have them coming regularly and my family in other neighborhoods use them too !

Jack B was terrific to work with on my original project, just weeding and general yard work. He is honest, knows his plants and vegetation and puts in the full time he contracts for. Additionally, he has an artistic vision of the potential in a 'garden'. We are working on another project now...I am very pleased with his suggestions and the timely start and implementation of the new 'rock garden' that is going in. I highly recommend his gardening services!!!

The men working at Desert Shade Landscaping did a wonderful job on my backyard. They removed trash, cut grass, pulled weeds, and trimmed trees. They even made me a beautiful flower garden around my gazebo. Desert Shade got the job done quickly and professionally. I will definitely be using their services again in the future.

Chris is truly "the best". And, I consider myself to be a very picky person. My husband and I feel incredibly lucky to have him taking care of our plants. I have learned so much from him about triming for the health of the tree/plant and so much more. Chris is always prompt, professional, trustworthy and a joy to talk to. He is a real "find". :)

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
