Introduction: I SPECIALIZE IN WINDOW COVERINGS INSTALL There's an old adage in carpentry "measure twice, cut once"... I learned that as teenager. (and, it is the basis of my philosophy for everything I do!) Take your time, do it right... I specialize in installing, repairing and fabricating anything, that goes in, on, or around a window or door. I have over 40 years experience as a master drapery & blind installer for many designers in Tucson. Also, I just spent the last 5 years as a supervisor to an installation crew for a big box store, throughout Arizona. Helping clients accomplish their goals, asking a reasonable compensation and having a happy customer, that's all that's necessary... I found out early that I was handy, and have a lot to contribute, so I do. I enjoy what most people dread: like putting together a room full of IKEA furniture! I also enjoy the reviews. We initially hired Dave to help us with a few smaller projects in our newly remodeled home. since then, we have hired Dave several additional times because he does SUCH a great job! From picture frame hanging to light installations, Dave is proficient and in them all. He is prompt, professional, and a fun guy to have around. Excellent communications by email and on the phone. We discussed what needed to be done, ( hang two curtain rods), the price,( very reasonable ), and he said he could do it the next day so we set up a time. He texted my to tell me he was on his way, arrived on time and went straight to work. He looked at what I needed done and said it would be no problem. He hung the curtain rods and made it look easy. I was going to hem the curtains in one room and he showed me if I used tiebacks, there would be no need for hemming. He even ran down to Ace hardware and got the cup holders to hold the tiebacks and installed them as well. He also showed me how to clean my blinds easier then what I had been doing. Both rooms look great and the rods were done perfectly! Very pleasant as well. Excellent job all around!!!

Dave was great! Very easy to work with and great communication. I had a fairly odd job that I wasn't sure how to tackle (installing a piece of weight-bearing exercise equipment in an older home) . Dave came in for a consultation, gave me great advice and did the job quickly and efficiently. All thumbs up.

Dave was a pleasure to work with. We had recently moved and presented him with a long, long list of chores that we were unable to do ourselves. Among these: hanging large and heavy artwork, assembling a new cabinet for our stereo, mounting peg board in the garage, adjusting curtain rods (they were hung crooked by the previous owner) and removing others, patching the walls and touch-up painting, and generally being helpful. He'd often ask: "Do you need help with that?" (indicating some object obviously out of place). We still have one last item on the list to complete (straightening out a large rug and pad that the movers threw down crooked and subsequently placed some quite heavy furniture upon). Dave will be coming back at a later date for that. Dave was prompt and would call if there was to be a delay. Our projects involved three half days. He was always thoroughly professional, cleaned up after his day of work, and came to the job prepared and enthusiastic. He also has a solid knowledge of many different trades.

Dave is a top drawer handyman. He installed a grab bar in the shower and a hallway railing. These were the items originally asked be done. He did an exemplary job. Also asked Dave to replace a smoke alarm battery, repair an exterior beam and clean a dryer filter and exhaust fan. Dave was extremely accommodating with all of this. I recommend him highly.

My pricing is very simple. I make a deal that both parties can agree upon!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was a twist of fate. At seventeen, I was building a set for a community theater, and a board member (who also owned an interior design firm) asked for one volunteer. I was that volunteer. I was a natural, tools were easy to use, and I liked the instant customer approval! Since then, I've installed EVERYTHING that could possibly go in or on a window! Installing HOME CONVENIENCE items came along about 12 years later... also a very rewarding trade!
What types of customers have you worked with?
The list is so varied, that narrowing it down, I'd say that INSTALLING is the answer. I perform installs more than repairs, wire pulling or fabricating.
