Took 6 1/2 weeks from contract signing to get a crew on my roof. The sales rep told me I had to pay the full amount up front. That is not in my DNA, but I had used this company previously and was comfortable with doing that. My check cleared two business days later and I could not get anyone to give me a schedule for the start date. So they had my money for 6 weeks before starting the job and I was getting a little nervous. Finally after calling one of the owners, I did receive a call back. Throughout the process, I had to continually follow-up numerous times about various issues. Most of the time, I didn't receive an answer without having to call the owners. They were slow to report to my insurance company, which caused me to have more follow-up. Gutters were supposed to be removed and reset. Didn't do it and caused damage. IAM roofing didn't catch it on final inspection, I did. Also, in the middle of the install, the sales rep called me and wanted to know if I would approve roughly $2,200 procedure that was not mentioned on the insurance adjusters paperwork. He said they may or may not be able to recoup it from the insurance company, but he needed to know now because he had men on the roof. I asked a few questions that he could not answer and had to consult someone else and let me know. When he called back, he said turns out they didn't need to do that procedure. But, if I had not asked questions and approved that additional cost, they would have moved forward. I felt they were trying to take advantage of me and milk me for more money. Most devastating to me was the destruction of my landscaping. I pointed out to the sales representative and project manager that if they couldn't guarantee that the landscaping would not be harmed, then it was a deal-breaker and I would find someone who could. I was assured I had nothing to worry about. Every one of my lime-light hydrangeas were crushed. I've lost three years of growth and do not have any blooms to enjoy this year. The owner just told me that his employees could not guarantee plants would not be damaged and that it is in the contract that they are not responsible for plant damage (my bad). 4 1/2 weeks went by from the start date to completion date. I believe the roof crew did a good job, certainly hope so. The company is getting bigger and they are going thru some growing pains. If you hire them and are happy, thank me because they learned a lot of lessons at my expense and displeasure.

If youre in the market for a roof, be sure to seek out an estimate from Henry (I Am Roofing) and John Swope (Best Choice Roofing Montgomery - the company that ended up replacing my roof). Both are extremely dedicated/professional sales reps. They will consistently go out of their way to ensure you are taken care of without ever expressing an ounce of frustration. In my particular case, Henry referred me to John after I had a conflict with I Am Roofing management resulting in the cancellation of my job (materials removed from my property and given a full refund). Without getting into specifics, leading up to the job, I had a ton of inquires/requests based on my extensive research. So when install day arrived and there were some slight material discrepancies, management thought it was best to pull the plug and cut their losses. Even though it was their ordering mistake, I cant blame them for moving on as some may consider my expectations unattainable. Nonetheless, I still recommend reaching out to Henry from I Am Roofing.

This was a very pleasant roofing experience and I recommend Doug and his crew to anyone needing roofing work. Everything started and ended timely as scheduled. Workers came early and stayed until late. The last day they were trying to wind up and a terrible storm came with very strong wind. Several of the workers stayed on the roof to hold down tar paper and roofing until the storm ended. Very dangerous but appreciated. This was beyond the call but they were dedicated to their work. When the job was complete, all scrap was removed from the yard and the yard was dragged with magnets to secure all nails that had fallen to the ground. All trash was gone before workers left and the yard was spotless. I was very impressed and pleased with the work done. Doug handled everything thru our insurance and I had very little involvement with the insurance company.I was very pleased how that process went. I would definitely use "I am Roofing" again.
