About
Hey everyone! I'm a professional pianist and music instructor whose studio is in Winston-Salem, NC. I specialize in classical, jazz, r&b, pop, and salsa piano, and my goal is to help you begin to master the piano from day one by creating a solid technical foundation coupled with playing FUN and BEAUTIFUL music from the very beginning. If you already have experience on the piano--fantastic--as I love to help other musicians delve deeper into their craft and provide wisdom from decades of being a gigging musician. I provide a step-by-step method to help in this endeavor, as well as provide you with the proper tools to learn to train your ears to HEAR music, the music theory necessary for success, and train your eyes to read music."

Justin is the best piano teacher we could have hoped for! He has been teaching our daughter (7 years old) for a little over two years and it has been incredible to watch her go from not knowing a single piano key to having an impressive repertoire and enjoying playing the piano. Justin is incredibly patient with children and makes the lessons so fun. Our lessons are virtual, so it is especially difficult to keep them engaging for a young child, but Justin does an amazing job of keeping our daughter interested and engaged. We appreciate that Justin focuses on hearing and appreciating the music, rather than rote memorization. He is also very good about mixing in contemporary music with classic pieces. Our daughter can play Canon in D and Carol of the Bells as well as a full range of Taylor Swift songs. Justin will often ask our daughter what songs or music she is listening to and write up an arrangement of her current favorite song on the fly for her to learn. Justin is not only an incredibly impressive musician, but also an amazing teacher for kids!
