Introduction: Miss Morgan uses principles from her background in Neuroscience, the Suzuki method, and experience as a professional musician to develop an easy, step-by-step approach to learning the violin. Through early childhood education, violin and viola lessons children learn skills such as problem solving, patience, cooperation, bravery, and, of course, an appreciation for art and beauty. Morgan believes that all of her students will not only grow into talented musicians but will be the bright, thoughtful leaders of our next generation.

Our daughter moved to Morgan about three years ago and we noticed a sharp improvement in her violin skills. Her tone, rhythm, and musicianship skills have all soared. She has joined the higher orchestra and her school and is now in the highest. And more importantly, she loves going to her lessons and has often asked for more.

My daughter started out learning violin with Morgan and after a year when she was ready to advance to a larger instrument, she transitioned to viola and is extremely happy with the decision. Now 2 years later, Morgan has introduced all sorts of opportunities for her to play and participate in various orchestras and competitions that are appropriate for elementary school aged children. Morgan is a fantastic teacher in that she is very understanding and communicates technique with my daughter in a way that keeps her motivated and it's exciting to watch!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

New families begin the process of joining my studio by scheduling a free phone consultation. We will discuss the lesson policy and answer any questions you may have. If we're on the same page, the next step is for you, the parent, to observe lessons with an existing student and/or group class. I usually recommend 3 observations without your child. After that we can begin weekly lessons!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Pre-college training at New England Conservatory BA Neuroscience and Musical Studies from USC MFA Performer/Composer from CalArts Suzuki Violin Units 1-8 Suzuki Early Childhood Education

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Over 10 years ago I began teaching children and I have never stopped. Being a violin teacher you get to watch your students grow into young adults, and there is something extraordinarily special about that relationship. While violin is the vehicle, the goal is for children to grow into adults with beautiful hearts and minds. I love being part of this process with families.
