About
Hello, my name is Jacob Thornburg, and I am the founder of Jake's Piano and Expert Moving Services LLC. I have six years of piano and expert moving experience and am happy to service your needs.
My team members have specialized training in moving the most difficult of items, but we can provide almost any types of moving services. Whether you are just moving one
item, or an entire house, we have the right team and access to the right equipment to service your needs.
PIANOS, POOL TABLES, AND TREADMILLS:
With over six years of experience, we use tools that are standard to the field, and have also built our own tools to get the job done right. I even have a design patent pending for one of the safety moving tools that we use to prevent damage, accidents, and injuries during the course of our piano and treadmill moves.

It is hard to imagine giving Two Men Labor less than an Excellent rating. We needed an in-house move, relocating a dining room set and office furniture after having new flooring installed and finished. All pieces are large and heavy and we were anxious to get our rooms back. Jacob and his partner arrived when promised (on time, the day after I contacted him!), asked us for clear directions about where our items should be placed. They worked quickly but carefully, too. There were no surprises - we would recommend them, and definitely hire them again!
Details: 3-5 items • Dining table • Other furniture items • Within the same building • No change in floors to load items • No change in floors to unload items

Jacob and Dave did a phneomal job helping me move from one studio to another. They were responsive and transparent during the reservation process and arrived on time the day of. I felt awful that they had to deal with some unforeseen problems (my building double booked moves causing them to move their U-Haul a few different times.) They kept their cool and never got frustrated (unlike me!) They were efficient and properly secured everything for the move, a lot of which was glass, and everything was safe. Thank you both. I would hire you again in a a heartbeat!
Details: Studio • Apartment • Less than 5 miles • Packing belongings into boxes • Furniture assembly and disassembly • 11 - 20 boxes • No, the mover has access to a passenger elevator • No, the mover has access to a freight elevator • Need some more information before hiring

I hired Jacob when I badly needed last minute movers. I would highly recommend them, him and his buddy Ethan are super nice guys and they were able quote me on half the price other places were quoting me for. They carefully moved my stuff and were very professional!
Details: 2 bedroom home • Less than 5 miles • Load via stairs • Unload via stairs

Great group of guys to work it. Showed up on time, ready to work and helped move my 4 bedroom home from storage to its new location. Took great care of my things. Would rehire again.

My only advice would be to get the booties that cover your feet so that you don’t dirty your clients floor as I had to mop the whole living room afterwards due to the snow.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our company strives to provide accurate and stress free quotes so that a customer knows the price of the move. We will ask for the details of the move so that we can properly estimate how long the job will take, and what the costs associated with the job will be.
The best method to receive a quote quickly is to answer the template that we message to the customer, so that we can provide the right price for the move.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We try to work with a customer over messaging or phone to get the details of their job so that we can provide a quote. For small moves and piano moves, we can usually provide a quote within a few minutes of viewing the job details provided.
For full house moves, we send the details to one of our crew leaders or other moving professionals to determine the estimated amount of time that the move will take. This usually takes 1-3 hrs depending on the availability of our crew leaders.
We do not transport marble, fine stones, or art pieces valued over $250. If you have one of these items, please let us know before the job, as we cannot move these types of items/ cannot cover them if damage occurs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree in business and economics from Wheaton College. I started my moving company six years ago during my sophomore year in college, and have since been developing my business plan, and educating myself on the best methods for moving all sorts of items.
In my six years, I have moved almost every type of expert move item, whether that be a tall upright player piano up a flight of stairs, a 700 lb gun safe, a medium grand piano, or a pool table; I've done my time and learned the best methods.
