Ashley is hands-down the best piano teacher I’ve ever had. She has this amazing ability to keep lessons structured but still super fun, so they never feel stiff or stressful. I actually look forward to my lessons every week. She’s also an incredibly talented pianist, and getting to learn from someone at that level has made all the difference in my progress. If you’re looking for a piano teacher for yourself or your child, look no further. I’ve worked with many teachers over the years and trust me, you won’t find anyone better than Ashley.

Ms. Shahbazi is very patient, understanding, and skilled at teaching piano. I would recommend her for student support of all ages! She gave me a lesson while she studied at Chapman University and gave a lot of good tips about fundamentals and the piece we worked on.

Ashley’s amazing! I love her lesson plans for my son. She’s very methodical and organized. Not only did she help Johnny’s piano technique, but also helped develope his musicality. We’re so lucky to have her in our lives.

Working with Ashley is the highlight of my week. She’s super nice and takes the online medium and makes it engaging. I feel like I am getting the same amount of learning I or MORE from my previous pianolessons in person, and it’s all from the comfort of my Own home which is convenient. 5 stars!!

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will gauge where the student is at in terms of experience, and talk through goals and interests in music. We can delve in to the playing if the student is comfortable, and come out of the lesson with practical goals and assignment materials for future lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-Master of Music (Piano performance) from California State University, Long Beach
-Master of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from California State University, Fullerton
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have 25 years of classical piano training. My teaching career began 11 years ago as I worked tutoring school age students in an academic setting, followed by assisting group music classes at an elementary school. From there I began teaching privately at different music studios, accumulating a considerable number of students weekly until I broke off and created my own business of private teaching, affectionately named Calico Piano Academy.
