Charles and his assistant was extremely accommodating and friendly. They were so positive and helpful. They worked with decency and manners. I've worked with large moving companies and the workers carried a poor attitude so that made the moving process even more stressful. My fence was falling down and posts were very loose in the ground. Mark built a 64 foot long by 6' high wooden fence for me. He showed me a sample of his fence construction, explained it to me, and then he prepared a detailed proposal, and scope of the work. His costs were a bit higher than a standard fence, but his design was much more detailed and provided me with a beautiful and structurally sound fence. He personally came to my house, and built the fence, and used a concrete base for the fence to rest on and secure metal post brackets, ensuring the fence was above the ground, secure, and minimized the fence from soaking up water on the ground, as well as left a nice border for my plants from the neighbor's yard. Additionally he notched the fence posts so the 3 (three) horizontal support brackets were flat inside the posts and secured for added strength. Something that I also noticed was he was very detailed oriented and kept his worksite safe and organized and each day when he left, my property was clean and I could see the progress of the fence and not wonder what he was doing. I am so happy I chose him to build my fence, Mark is very easy to work with, and my fence is beautiful, very strong, and I feel very confident that it will last a long time and not end up like the fence I replaced. American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.

Excellent quality and honesty. We have hired Tom at New Millennium to do all our investment property roofs. So far, he has done 2 complete re-roofs and 4 roof repairs, and we are expecting to send another complete re-roof his way soon. All have come out great. We stick with Tom because of his exceptional quality and reasonable prices.
When Chris and his father Tom built an 800sq.ft. detatched two story structure on my property in Costa Mesa. From the get go they were timely and well versed in the art of construction. The job came in on time and at the proposed budget. The overall experience was very good and I would use them again if they'd travel to Hawaii to work for me.

Hired Monica & Joe after seeing some wonderful flips that they had done for investor clients of mine. Fantastic job!! They took a tired old looking house from the 1970's and made it completely amazing looking. A huge punch list was accomplished in a mere 3 weeks, including remodeling the kitchen, all baths, new paint, new carpet, new blinds, deep cleaning. We now have tenants fighting over this property!! All work was very high quality and was accomplished very fast (beyond our wildest expectations). Great communication. Definitely over delivered on both quality and timing! Will use again and again! Could not be happier with this company. They went above and beyond. We had some water damage to our home and needed a contractor ASAP. GIM came out to my property and assessed the situation right away. They provided me with an estimate and got started right away. My roof needed to be repaired and and I decided to also to some interior renovations. I had my kitchen re done with a modern finish and opened up a wall to give it a bigger feel. There architect supplied me with drawings ahead of time to show how it would look. At the end they put solar on the roof and now I am saving money on my energy bill. Thank you for all the hard work!
I was in search of a handyman for myriad of repairs for my rental property back in August of 2010. I ended up doing a serach on Yellow Pages and came across Mark's advertisement. Mark provided an oustanding service. He was even able to meet me at the rental property on the same day that I contacted him even though it was a little late in the evening. All his work was exceptionally well done. We had a really old bathroom exhaust fan that needed repair. Instead of recommending a new one he was able to find the part to repair it and save us a lot of money. He also did lots of cosmetic work for our walls also. We also had him hook up the new tenants icemaker to the plumbing and he got that done very well. His prices are very reasonable also. I would not hesitate recommending Mark to friends and family.

Our big project is still in the planning stage, but Jeremy was already able to help us sort out some weird plumbing issues at the home we just purchased. WHEN I TALKED TO THE TENANT, HE SAID HE LIKED ZENPLACE'S ONLINE AND MOBILE SYSTEM FOR INSTANTLY BOOKING SHOWINGS AND WAS FRUSTRATED BY OTHER AGENTS WHO HE WOULD HAVE TO KEEP CALLING.
