Introduction: I am a credentialed elementary teacher with experience tutoring K-12, both in person and virtually. I began tutoring in 2019 and refined my tech skills during the pandemic when everything became virtual. I also currently teach 3rd grade in California and participate regularly in plenty of professional development, including post graduate courses. This is my 6th year teaching in the classroom, but my umpteenth year working with children in a school setting. I use a comprehensive homeschool curriculum with progress monitoring reports, and my lessons are interactive and designed to meet the needs of each student. I try to have fun and make it relevant to their own experience, and I ensure that every student feels included and welcomed. In the classroom, my biggest strengths are levels of engagement and behavior management utilizing SEL methods.

Ciera has been a phenomenal tutor for my kids. My 5th grade daughter needed help with reading comprehension and her skills and confidence have grown after working with Ciera! My 1st grade son needed support for his math and reading and he’s already made so much progress! She’s been amazing with them both.

In Person or Online Sessions = $35-$40 per hour (to cover both tutoring and the curriculum subscription) First 30 minutes is free to discuss goals and needs. *Price Per Session* Only 15 minutes = $10 Only 20 minutes = $15 Only 30 minutes = $20 Only 45 minutes = $30 Full 60 minutes = $35 Additional 10 minutes = $6 ($41 total) Additional 15 minutes = $8 ($43 total) Additional 20 minutes = $11 ($46 total) Additional 30 minutes = $15 ($50 total) MAX 90 minute sessions (if it is a good fit for your child)

I have a multiple subject teaching credential and 60+ post graduate units in the education field.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a teacher, tutoring is a natural choice for a part-time job. I love getting to work with students one-on-one!
