"I first hired Black Diamond Services to clean out my clothes dryer vent. Nolan arrived on time, was very professional and provided good information as to how the cleaning is performed. The cleaning was performed quickly and professionally. I was so impressed with the service that I made an appointment for him to clean the exterior windows of my house. I will use Black Diamond Services again."

"One of the best cleaners that I have hired. She cleaned my baseboards and also was able to bleach my walls without getting any specs of bleach on my vintage furniture."

"I've had Lina's House Keeping service my home for almost 2 years. Everytime she comes over she always does a great job. She really pays attention to detail and really cleans everything. Not just a quick dusting. She's really nice and I trust leaving her in my home without me there. She also texts so it's easier to communicate something with her real quick when I'm in a rush. I've had House cleaners before that were cheaper but they didn't do that great of a job. You really get what you pay for here. I would recommend Lina's House Keeping to anyone who really loves a clean home."

"The cleaners did a good job with the bathroom, but left streaks on the mirror and a lot of dust on the floor (even though they had said they were going to mop it) and carpets."

"This awesome lady cleaned the stove, kitchen cabinets, hallway, the bathroom, and bedrooms. Might not seem like a long list, but all of those things had been used and not up kept as well as it should have been by 5 college girls and included some serious pet, make up, and grease stains thay were no joke. We had not even a shadow of a chance getting done on time without her. Really reasonable and a great personality, you won't go wrong with hiring her and might make a new friend in the process."

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.
