I'm learning a great deal from working with Max. He has a gift of helping anyone become better at selfdefense. I will be working with Max for a very longtime.
I've had one lesson with Cindy so far and loved it! She walked me through proper techniques and we did a variety of self-defense training so I was constantly challenged and learning. I can say that after one lesson I already feel much more prepared, but I'm looking forward to learning more and getting stronger in the process! I'd recommend Cindy to anyone who is looking for the perfect balance of self-defense lessons and working out!

Max led a selfdefense training for a company women's group. Everyone left feeling empowered and stronger and more confident in themselves. Max was knowledgeable, great at explaining all the moves, and great with questions.
So great! Martin taught a self-defense class at our office with his colleague, Angelo. The class was informative, fun, and gave us all a basic understanding of some moves we could use if we ever had to defend ourselves. Martin answered all of our questions about different scenarios and gave clear, useful instructions. We had a blast and really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend!

We weren't sure what to expect from a self-defense class, but Max offered me a good breakdown over email prior to the coming in to teach, and once here, he was good about demonstrating techniques and allowing the class to do as much or as little as they were comfortable with.
I found Max's lessons to be practical for the common person, and his teaching style is to the point, but relaxed. He'll answer questions as you go along and help you to chain together the different things he teaches you.
We've asked him back for every other week, so he's definitely doing the right things! We have a lot of fun, but also learn a lot from Max.
Jack is definitely the person I’ve been looking for! I don’t write many reviews unless it’s something either really good or really really bad. With that said, Jack is truly amazing. Let me start by saying I have zero experience in any type of martial arts. I got beat up a few times in middle school and that’s about it. I decided to learn a bit of selfdefense just in case my honest opinion hurts someone’s feeling one day and I might have to defend myself. Jack is awesome with his skills and is happy to teach you everything he knows. He’s super humble and patient at the same time. He truly gives you his full attention every single session. He’s knowledgable in nutrition and mental health as well! Thanks Jack!! Looking forward to many many more sessions!

I was looking for a selfdefense class that would work for me for a while. I contacted Jack and he responded right away, explaining how he works with clients and what Muay Thai is (I had no idea). I must say, that I absolutely LOVE it. I've never done any type of training like this before, it not only is getting me fitter but it REALLY helps with stress release, along with improving my daily discipline! I didn't realize starting with Jack that my training would improve my lifestyle so much. Knowing that you can protect yourself brings an entirely new mindset and confidence to my attitude. Jack also answers my questions right away via text or call, whichever you prefer. Jack has guided me on diet, as well as training. He is friendly, patient and he clearly loves what he does. I couldn't recommend Jack any higher to work with. Do it!

Working with Elias has been one of the most rewarding fitness experiences I've had in months. When the quarantine started, I didn't know where to look to get involved in fitness and who to trust to teach me self-defense and foundations in mixed martial arts.
I didn't have a lot of experience with finding instructors or trainers in the city since I'm new and just moved here from Canada, eh. I also had a lot of personal worries and doubts about who to trust and rely on for training, self-defense and fitness. I didn't know a lot of people and was in need of someone trust-worthy and reliable.
When I met Elias, I was skeptical about the $60/per session but open-minded to the idea of working with him and that turned out to be one of the BEST fitness decisions I've made. Elias over-exceeded my expectations in so many areas, including delivering fun, challenging, engaging workouts that focused on foundations, strength workouts, and variety on Muay Thai, Boxing, and BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-jitsu).
In his words, he grew up in a tough neighbourhood, and those experiences taught him to be practical, smart and nimble. He has over 20 years of experience in MMAs (mixed martial arts). He's competed professionally in a ring for over 5 years, giving him a HUGE range of experiences to share with his students. On top of that, he's kind (he bought me a Gatorade when I didn't bring water to a class), considerate of his students (pushes you just hard enough and asks you how you're feeling), responsiveness (you need 1:1 classes ASAP because life is stressin' you out - he's got your back), and has high integrity (believes in delivering value and teaching you to be excellent, instead of just trying to take as much money from you as possible).
He has built a wonderful 1:1 experience for me by building a safe place to learn MMAs, without making me feel bad about taking my time to learn foundations. He's patient and deeply cares about his students and the experience he delivers.
As a plug, him and his team also have outdoor boxing lessons in the Panhandle & Russian Hill currently. Support this local business and help them thrive during the pandemic so they can deliver more outdoor boxing classes for others in a safe manner. If you do, google sfboxingclub. I do both the 1:1 and go to the these outdoor classes on the weekends. Truly, truly a wonderful experience that is hard to come by. Not only does his team do such an amazing job of attentively making sure your experience is wonderful and safe, they also help to build a small, safe and mighty community of boxers who are strong and happy to get their fitness in a safe and comfortable space. Thank you Elias for all that you do.
I do not write reviews very often, but when someone goes up and beyond to make my experience amazing, I will write a review for them. Highly, highly recommend.
