FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spend nearly all my free time reading about game design, news in the game industry, and asking my more-experienced colleagues for advise or clarification. Game designers also need to be "Renaissance men (and women)", so learning about nearly anything I get my hands on never stops!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was going through a rough time, and games provided me an oppertunity to emotionally retreat and regroup, and ultimately overcome it. I want to help do that for others, too. With writing, I want to open people's horizons a bit further. Being good at both writing and game design didn't exactly impede the decision either. ;)
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I'm usually looking over narrative arcs and design documents in a consultation role. I listen to how they want to make the game, and give advise on how best to go about doing it in a balanced, interesting way. Since I just got started freelance writing, most of what I do is write blog posts and SEO articles.
