Introduction: You will love your garden again! Jane will do a thorough weeding and clean up. Jane worked full time as a gardener in New Hampshire for over 10 years, in Florida for one year, and now in Berkeley for almost a year. Her specialty is the fine detail work that most people don't have the patience or time for. She loves being outside, taking care of plants, and getting to know your landscape preferences. She takes the time needed to make your garden look happy and special. Her attention to detail is impeccable and she likes to make your garden look the way you want it to. Jane can accommodate most styles of gardens; whether it is a natural setting or perhaps very formal. She will let you know if she finds anything that needs attention outside of weeding. You can count on her to show up, do what needs to be done and stay in touch. She doesn’t own a weed whacker or leaf blower. Everything will be done carefully and by hand. Jane also has neem oil and organic fertilizers to treat your plants as needed, and she can do basic irrigation repairs. She does pruning if she can reach it without a ladder. Jane does not mow lawns or work with chemicals.

What can I say? Jane is like no other. She is low-key, earnest, honest, doesn't use chemicals or blowers or weedwackers; she is a gardener or looks for beauty in everything. She may not be for everyone, but she is perfect for me and my neighbor.

Jane has been a gift to us. We originally hired Jane simply to maintain our garden-- to weed, prune, water, deadhead, etc. But when we hired her we had no idea how special a person she is. Jane comes to work on time, she works fast and she works extremely well - not simply because she needs the work, but because she absolutely LOVES plants. She loves gardens. Jane also loves to learn. We have been impressed by how Jane listens to our desires and goes out of her way to save us time and money and make our ideas into a reality. If you need someone long term who you can trust, or if you have a quick job that will last a few hours, try her out. You'll be very happy Jane is in your phone book.

We hired Jane to help weed our front and back yard. She does everything by hand and looks great! It’s slow, hard/tedious work, but she’s a champ! She’s also working with us to help amend and improve our soil (it’s all heavy clay). And hopefully this fall, we’ll be able to do some plantings.

Jane’s fees are $45/hr, two hour minimum. Fees for tolls and gas may be added if traveling longer distances or across bridges.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you first meet Jane she will ask you what you like about your garden as well as what you dislike about it. Together you will create a plan for getting your garden to where you want it to be and discuss what will be required as far as maintaining it that way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Jane has ten plus years working for two different landscaping companies. Clients included private accounts as well as business accounts.
