What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $100 p/hr and drive time each way is included. When I leave my office I text the exact time I am leaving and what GPS says my exact ETA is, this is how drive time is accounted for.
Site visits to plan jobs at the same rate. I often offer clients discounts when it makes sense, including for repeat clients.
I bring all the tools and hanging hardware needed for almost any job requirements, and bring a step ladder and an extra tall ladder, perfect for almost all needs. Sometimes I have to go to a hardware store for unique items or I have to special order specialty hardware for clients needs.
I install 10 to 20 pieces p/hour depending on the size and specific installation or location requirements.
If another installer is required for heavy artworks or other complex jobs - sculptures, glass, packing and shipping, etc - they are paid the same rate as above. Multi-installer jobs must be planned well in advance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I discuss the details of the needs of their project. I contact the same day of each appointment to let clients know my exact eta.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a professional working fine artist, with solo museum shows and exhibitions in galleries and museums across the country, in the EU, and Japan. I’ve been a professional art handler and installer for over thirty years at the top art galleries, museums, international art fairs, and for private art collectors and for people and businesses of all types.
