- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was an Army Military Policeman for 2 years followed by 29 years with the Beverly Hills Police Department. I worked security details for presidents and movie stars and everything in between. I have contacts in local law enforcement as well as federal law enforcement. My path into private security was well worn, and natural.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are in the market for a security professional or an investigator, it is in your best interest to make sure that they are licensed and insured.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Security is not all the same and should not be shopped by price alone. Consider your security needs prior to making calls. Do you need someone to check a guest list at your next party, or is your family in danger? Do you need someone with just basic training, or someone with a career in protective service for your needs. The level of risk involved to the client, the training needed to evaluate and meet the risk, the experience in dealing with this type of risk in the past will drive the price.
