I hired Dr. Ira L. Lake on the advice of a friend who was at a wedding where he officiated. My best friend said to me it would be a mistake on my part if I didn't hire him as my wedding officiant. Right from the start in our initial meeting we hit it off as he made me feel comfortable with his down to earth and yet outgoing personality. This was my first marriage and so I didn't know much about how to go about planning a wedding ceremony. But Dr. Lake explained and outlined for me how a traditional wedding ceremony would look and even recommended a florist and photographer that he knew. He even suggested several potential venues to host the wedding ceremony. At the end of our initial meeting I felt like the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders. Dr. Lake assured me that he would be available to answer any and all of the questions I might have with regards to planning the ceremony up until the ceremony itself. I must have called or texted Dr. Lake 10 times and each time he responded to me in a timely manner. Then the day of my wedding came. I was a nervous mess. Dr. Lake showed up an hour early for the ceremony. He visited me in my dressing room and immediately made me feel at ease. Even my bridesmaid commented on his calming influence on me after he left the room. Words cannot adequately describe the beautiful ceremony he conducted. His words were clear and meaningful with regards to how to build a great and successful marriage. His easy to understand message and great sense of humor had the majority of the guest I talked too wishing that he had been the officiant for their weddings. Dr. Lake stayed until after the wedding photos were taken mingling with the guests and making everyone feel warm, accepted, and comfortable. For anyone out there looking for a wedding officiant PLEASE don't hesitate to contact and hire Dr. Ira L. Lake. His fee was well below what I thought I would be paying and his service was even more that what I expected to receive. One last note: He offered in his initial quote to me one free counseling session for me and my fiancé. We took him up on it and my finance and I were truly blessed by what he shared and challenged us with in counseling. Dr. Ira will be our counselor moving forward should our marriage get off track from time to time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Ira L. Lake
Our first time experiencing marriage counseling. With just our first session we've learned so much. Michelle explains everything so well from a man and woman's point of view. Really looking forward to our sessions with her.
Helped with Relationship Counseling. My girl friend and I were going through a difficult time. We heard from others about the benefit of choosing a life coach over a MFT or a Psychologist. Our problems were communication about here and now. We didn't want to have to spend so much time individually sitting in "couch therapy " with a psychologist. Patti gets right to the underline issues. Her experience in this field is second to none. Our relationship including that of our teenage children that each of us has from our previous marriages has gotten so much better. Everyone in our family has benefited from we call her " our life coach" She is so easy to talk to. My fear and anxiety trusting to talk to someone with our issues went away the moment we met her. Our relationship has never been better thanks to Patti
Kelli has worked closely with me and my children during a very difficult transition in our lives. She has been supportive, compassionate and creative in working with us in providing counseling. Her methods are practical and effective. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Rose Rigole changed my family's life. Rose not only helped my husband and I discover new meaning in our relationship but gave us the tools to overcome the everyday roadblocks marriages find themselves up against. These tools have helped us keep our love the main focus and not on the distractions life throws us which at the moment seem so important. Ethical, diplomatic and caring, her approach never made either of us feel like the "bad guy".
I keep crossing paths with Carlyle, and each time we meet again, I am more impressed with his dedication and the breadth of his knowledge. When I first met Carlyle, he was a chaplain for Hospice working with children and some of the more difficult cases, even for Hospice. We collaborated with some work investigating indigenous technologies that deal with grieving, community and relationship, and now share some responsibilities guiding a non-profit group doing water projects and education projects in West Africa. Carlyle has provided counseling and support for some people I know well, and I have been able to see up close the compassion and skill that he brings when working with people who are often in some very vulnerable places. He has recommended some powerful practices and rituals to people that have helped them to ground, and better hold and move the energies they are wrestling with. I have the highest regard for Carlyle, and recommend him with no reservations for help with grief and spiritual needs.
To summarize my experience working with Olivia, I would say life changing. Her counseling was fantastic and filled with tons of insight. Her course works if you are willing to put in the work. Plain and simple. I would recommend her to anyone.
Murray was very experienced and professional with helping my husband and I get a better understanding of one another. Our relationship was strained over the course of several disagreements on key topics, but Murray helped provide us with some simple but powerful tools in order to work out our problems as a couple. His guidance and fair approach made sure we were both comfortable in speaking our mind. We were able to rebuild trust and repair the damaged foundation of our marriage at the end of Murray's counseling sessions. We would not hesitate to recommend him to a close friend if we saw they were having similar issues.
Working with Saman for almost 3 years and I have to say that he has blossomed into a great professional. To be honest I was really skeptical if therapy was right for me, seeing as I only met him a year or so into his internship so I wasn't sure if he was able to help me. He is a very patient, compassionate and understanding person who takes this field of work to heart...It's pretty much his calling in life. Fast forward two and a half years later, I've learned ways to cope with my anxiety and have gained the confidence to accomplish my goals in my life.
Working with Bernard at Los Angeles Counseling Center has truly been a rewarding experience. I have been enlightened, challenged, affirmed and relieved to spend time exploring my beliefs and behavior in my marriage with a professional who has helped me stay curious, gentle and patient with myself and my partner. I would recommend anyone willing to do the hard yet inspiring and rewarding work that counseling facilitates to meet with Bernard.
Third Way Counseling is great! They have been sensitive to my needs (financial and time constraints) and are accommodating in every way.
Rachel is very warm and inviting. She was prompt in responding and was able to schedule me right away. I would recommend her to my own close friends and family!
I went to see Armando Perez when I was having difficulty in my work situation. He is a wonderful listener and is very knowledgeable about how and why people react the way they do. He provided lots of ideas and strategies about how to make my work environment manageable beginnning with me. I truly enjoyed meeting with him and wouild recommend him to anyone having difficulties they would like resolved. Myra
Finding a therapist can often be a difficult task, but I would recommend Stacey to absolutely anyone. She is compassionate, calm and very skilled in what she does. Her desire to help is reflected in her approach to conversations. She conducts herself in a professional manner, but has an innate ability to connect to people. My advice is to call Stacey today and get started on the path to understanding and appreciating yourself.
I've spent my career looking at how we live and it's clear that relationships are the key. Yet, as important as relationships are, we aren't given much help with them. As children we read fairly tales about knights rescuing princesses, but it turns out that real life isn't really like that. We don't just meet someone, fall in love and live happily ever after. Relationships, good relationships, are hard work. And, of course, when they are good, we are glad we made the effort. So, while you were perfecting your trade, I've been looking at life and relationships. When your car isn't working you take it to a mechanic, when your computer is acting up you call tech support. And, when you aren't getting what you want from your life or relationships, you call someone like me. I've been a therapist for more than 30 years (I'm 60). During those years I have spent a great deal of time with clients talking about their lives and, at the same time, living my own. I discovered, as you may have, that men and women are different, very different, and its as if they speak different languages. I like to think that I speak both those languages and can help men and women communicate with each other. Of course, we have other relationships, too. We have parents, and children, and bosses and co-workers. Many of us want a relationship but haven't found one yet or haven't figured out how to make our relationships last. If your partner is resistant, know this. Relationships can often be improved through the actions of one motivated partner, even though the other is unwilling to come to therapy. If you are not currently in a relationship, we can work together to discover how you can build better ones. I've spent my life looking at these things and learning what makes them work. Let's talk about your life and relationships.

Gifted and Creative Counseling is my private assessment, life coaching and psychotherapy practice. I've helped people of all ages fulfill their purpose and passion for the last 15 years. I specialize in identifying reasons for complex problems, such as why we aren't succeeding in a given area (social, emotional, relational, occupational, educational, etc.) how to get past whatever is blocking us (beliefs, life situation, relationships, trauma, depression, anxiety). We work at your speed in person, at my Granada Hills office, or by phone, skype, or email. I also specialize in assessing children who are having difficulties, both using achievement testing, and qualitative means such as observation, interview and play, that can yield a kind of owner's manual for him or her; this is useful in a wide range of applications, and teachers really benefit from knowing this information.
I help people to understand what might be getting in their way to having healthier relationships and success in their lives. I listen very carefully and build a trusting relationship where new experiences can be had and growth begins. When life outside my consultation room is changing, I know we are doing good work inside!
