- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is essential in our line of work. I personally take training on updates on Quick Books each year. Also, I have a tax prep license so that requires taking continuing education on the new tax laws in order for my license to stay current.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My parents had their own small business when I was growing up. I started helping my mother with the bookkeeping when I was in grade school. I loved it instantly. I was already very strong in math so numbers made sense to me.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone who is patient and can spend time with you answering questions. I am never insulted when a clients asks me why I did something. It is a great opportunity for us to work together. When I educate my clients, I know I am just setting them up for long term success.
