I believe that I do the best I can with treating each pet special, and that is giving the pet all my love and that is "a lot!". There is no comparison to my pet sitting and a kennel. I have pet sat over 100 dogs in my "dog" career so I do have alot of experience. Knowing that the pets could be staying in a kennel with no human contact and excessive barking all night could traumatize your pet. Instead, they are in my cool/ warm apartment and at night, sleep wherever they prefer. I feel I provide a service that is a vacation for the dogs and that makes me feel good. I started this company while I was in CA 23yrs ago and then I moved to CT which had an acre yard with a beautiful porch and a completely fenced yard with surrounding of 50lbs of cedar to deter ticks. I totally regretted the move so 10yrs later I returned to Carlsbad CA. Since I have been in an apartment, it is not the same as an acre in CT but that is CA! This is my only job, so I listen to my clients and try to keep their pets as closely to their home schedule as possible. Look forward to hearing from you, Dawn

Chloe is a mommas girl and my baby so I hate leaving her anywhere. To ease my anxiety we met dawn ahead of time at her home where Chloe would stay. She was great with her and the home was very dog friendly. When I picked Chloe up after 5 days she was happy and her coat was glowing from dawn taking the extra time to brush her and make her pretty. I will absolutely use dawn again!

Dawn provided a home and companionship to our Coco while we were away! As a matter of fact, Coco was in no particular hurry to leave when we came to pick her up!! We will absolutely be asking Dawn to watch our furry daughter again.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
My passion for dogs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I always clean dogs eyes and check ears w/ wipeys every other day. Also brush every 3rd day. Always keep my yard clean so I know that their poop is normal looking.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If going overnight or on a trip it is a good idea to try to meet first if possible. Then you get a good sense of who and where your dog is staying. You have enough things to worry about when traveling and then when the day comes you can just drop off your pet with much less stress and time. And you can also see how your pet interacts with Pugsley and me!
