Lana is absolutely the best!! I worked with her for only two months and she still stays in touch with me three years later to see how I am doing. She has worked with me via online as well. She is amazing. She finds a way to make you enjoy working out. We used TRX, running in the water, videos, treadmill...the list goes on and on. She is truly amazing and will meet you where you are in your goals and get you there!
I did Bo's group fitness classes, he was very positive and supportive. He was also very knowledgable! I had some knee pain from a previous injury, Bo was able to adjust workouts without sacrificing results! He was always available for questions (and believe me I had a lot). Overall, I had an amazing experience. He also provides a diet plan that is extremely user-friendly with variety. He was also able to help and alter my diet since I was unable to eat extra meals at work. He really cares about you and will push you! Nothing but positive feedback for Bo!
I've start training with Jonna back in September 2017, and have seen great results! I used to run and do cardio everyday, with light weight training. After training with Jonna for just a month, I could see muscle definition that I have never seen before. Now, fast forward 6 months, and I'm training for my first bikini competition! Jonna really inspires and pushes me to look passed my limits! I highly recommend Jonna as your personal trainer :)
In March 2017, I was stuck in my weight loss efforts despite limiting my calories and exercise efforts. Shedding 30+ pounds had been a struggle for years – my weight would yo-yo; sometimes being able to lose a few pounds with deprivation, but the pounds always returned once I started eating again. I was also experiencing fairly severe health annoyances like constant watery eyes and significant swelling in my knees – but my focus was really not on those things; it was on wanting to lose weight. Convinced that my metabolism was permanently stifled due to my age and years of yo-yo dieting (I am 55 years old), I was ready to give up and accept the way I looked and felt as my unfortunate reality. My husband thankfully encouraged me to see a Dietician/Nutritionist, and I found Donna online. My first appointment with Donna was in late March. We decided that I would do a 2 week cleanse (Detox) to rid my body of toxins – it was excruciating (but worth it!), proof that my body was full of bad things. I then went through testing for the LEAP program. The results were very interesting – things I had been eating for years in my efforts to lose weight – like certain fruits, garbanzo beans, cabbage, corn, chicken, and beef – and things like basil, garlic, and peanuts – were identified as intolerances for me. Donna explained that these foods led to inflammation and worked against my weight loss efforts. As well, consumption of these foods was causing/aggravating the other health symptoms I was experiencing. Fast forward to six months later, and while I have not been perfect, I am over halfway to my weight loss goal! Thanks to Donna and the LEAP protocol, I have lost about 20 pounds, the swelling in my knees is noticeably reduced, and my eyes are only occasionally mildly watery. My physical and mental health has improved, and I am aware of how I feel when eating certain foods to the point that I embarked on a 10-week program to give up sugar on August 1st. One of the best things about the LEAP program is that it is not a Diet – this is a Lifestyle Change which I will be able to maintain. I highly recommend Donna and the programs she uses to others struggling with health issues, including the inability to lose weight. It is amazing how much what we ingest affects our health, and it’s not just avoiding those foods we know we shouldn’t eat! I was eating hummus and grapefruit regularly in my prior weight loss efforts, and it turns out those so-called health foods were working against me. This program has been life changing for me, and I am so appreciative for Donna and her true concern about my health.
I worked out with JJ for 6 consecutives months and loved it! I was scared about not being "fit" enough and that some of the workouts would be too difficult, but everything was modified specifically for me. JJ, is a great trainer and always made time before, or after class, to answer any questions or concerns I had. His approach to training is one where he strongly believes in motivating and supporting his class to be the strongest, healthiest, and happiest they can be--no matter your fitness level!
Best nutritionist in San Diego for natural and healthy foods, especially if you are thinking of becoming a vegan or vegetarian! Basically, I was a bachelor and I needed guidance for grocery shopping, meal prep and did one of her cooking classes focused on smoothies and juicing - was geared to yogis/athletes (pre and post workouts). I was taken to People's in Ocean Beach for a one hour tour (place is all vegetarian), and I learned the best things to pick out from each isle. She also treated me to a salad in their cafe, and told me what salad bar items pack the best nutrition (I was focusing on slowly eating less meat and just making sure I was getting good protein). My work is hiring her for our corporate wellness program based on her dietician background and nutritionist certification...sweet! She has awesome teas too, they cleanse you out ;)
I read the amazing book Intuitive Eating and thought it would help me work through my eating disorder, but I wanted a professional to guide me through the process. I love Lindsay. I haven't seen her since our last session in August of 2014, but I consider myself mostly healed. My eating disorder was 25 years in the making. She helped me understand where my food issues came from, helped me challenged my own twisted perceptions of food, and helped me completely change the way I eat. There are no ridiculous meal plans or plates given, because the fact is diets and eating plans don't work, especially when it comes to healing an eating disorder. Diets and food plans quickly become a very rigid set of rules to live by in the eating disordered mind. I needed some sort of structure, but not food-specific structure. Lindsay introduced me to Recovery Record which offered the minimal structure I needed, and she was able to review and discuss my logs every week. I even brought my boyfriend in so he could ask any questions about the things he didn't understand. My relationship with food right now is the healthiest it's been in my whole life!
