I hired Boris Seljak to give an introductory cooking lesson to two seventeen year old boys. He was wonderful with them, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He is a personable hands-on instructor who taught the boys knife skills and food handling procedures. In a two-hour time period, the boys made chicken stock, chicken soup, a roasted chicken and vegetable dish, and a braised chicken dish. I would recommend him for anyone wanting to learn how to cook, including young people. My husband and I are looking forward to hiring him for a catering event in the future.

Boris did an excellent job teaching and preparing 2 appetizers, an entree, vegetable dish and a side dish for our adult children. He has a great personality, good entertainer and very professional. He is very accommodating and wanted to meet all our expectations for the evening. Our meal was better then many meals we would get a nice restruants. I will hire him again for any catering or parties we have in the future.

Boris was AWESOME! We didn't necessarily have an event or catering, we were just beginners who wanted to get a good foundation for learning how to cook. Boris was extremely enthusiastic and answered all of our questions. He taught us numerous knife and cooking skills that we can use moving forward. Ingredients weren't overly complicated. He made multiple dishes for us out of a single chicken. The food turned out AMAZING! I highly recommend Boris for any of your cooking or catering needs. He is very professional and a true expert.

Working with Boris was a wonderful experience. He helped us to decide on a menu within our budget and was extremely flexible when our plans changed a few days before the event. His team was punctual, extremely professional and catered to all our guests needs. Needless to say, the food was excellent and our guests were very impressed. I would highly recommend Boris and his team and would definitely use them again for future events.

My wife and I hired Boris to cater our wedding at American River Resorts in Coloma, CA. We weren't planning to hire anyone as we had friends from culinary school that were going to do the job for us very cheaply, but that fell through and we had to go through a rush to hire someone and explain our unique and different menu (sweet potato bar, vegan chili, gluten free corn bread, special holiday sangria, desert bar, etc) on a somewhat limited budget with limited time. Boris was easy to work with and provided helpful solutions and was very amenable to changes but also insightful in his rebuttal when some ideas weren't feasible or could be done better given our circumstances. The day of the family was a few minutes late because of traffic on a small mountain road (a circumstance not within his or my control, lol), but they got setup quickly and had food out sooner than expected. The meal was absolutely delicious and everyone raved about both the meat based and the meatless chilis as well as the beautiful purple potatoes. SUCH GOOD FLAVOR!!!! The only complaint my wife had was that because they were late getting in, and some confusion, the sangria we asked them to make and place on the tables didn't get placed on the tables until about 30m in to the cocktail hour. Our bridesmaids had to make sure the sangria got moved from the kitchen to the dining hall. However, that's a minor issue, and overall because of the amazing flavor, quantity of food (and leftovers for a week, mmmmm), quality of production, and the efficiency of the whole team (which is a whole family operation) - we were highly satisfied with Global Gourmet. My suggestion to anyone is to be as clear and concise as possible with your directions and designate someone who is NOT the bride on the day of to do any of the logistics so that any of those minor issues won't be a problem. HIRE BORIS!
