- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In an effort to stay abreast of this dynamically changing field, I have worked diligently with leading manufacturers to maintain and increase my knowledge base. Continuing education is vital in this business and must remain an integral part of everyday activities. In addition, I began teaching a weekly summer-time computer class through our church. It is done free of charge as an outreach to the community. I try to assist my customers in their own computer education by giving them the tools and the websites I use in my teaching endeavor. I believe the more educated a customer is the fewer problems they will have, resulting in lower stress and less frustration. For PC-Medic, that has become a high priority.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been a technically inclined person who loves science. In college, I studied Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Marketing, and Business Management. Computers have always been of interest to me and I purchased my first system in 1976. Computers have always been a vital tool to me in my professional career. Over the years, I have often assisted friends with their computer problems and I have periodically built them new machines. Computers normally function logically, but are sometimes unpredictable. As a result, they have often provided a welcome challenge. Approximately 13 years ago, life changes allowed me to start this adventure and begin building PC-Medic into a thriving business it is today. I find it personally satisfying to accurately diagnose the problem and then correct the underlying issues as quickly and economically as possible. It is truly a blessing when a person's hobby can become their profession.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We specialize in Complete Custom Built Systems, PC Computer Repairs, Virus Removal, System Upgrages, General Tune-ups, Home or Small Business Network Setup and Maintenance. We setup customer's new Brand Name Machines and create their System Recovery Disc Sets, while carefully transferring customer's data. Every unit leaves our shop cleaned both inside and out. Our goal is to return every customer's machine looking as near new as possible.
