I had been exercising for about a year now by myself but decided to hire a trainer. I've been working out with Vinny for two months now and my body has changed more in the past two months than in the past year. Vinny has taught me from basics: how to breathe correctly during my exercises, proper posture, how to target and isolate certain muscles.. to kickboxing and self defense. Vinny is the type of trainer that will go the extra mile and help you achieve your goals. I def recommend him.

I met Aaron when he was the new Muay Thai instructor at my kickboxing gym. All the coaches were experienced fighters, and I didn't expect to be impressed by the 'new guy' but his technique, speed, and hands-on teaching method quickly won me over. Aaron totally understands the experience level of his student, and he is able to teach at your particular level of experience while at the same time advancing your ability with new skills and better technique. I had trained for two years prior to meeting Aaron, but in his classes my counters still got way faster and my blocks became more automatic and immediate. With Aaron you will learn by doing, through experience: he will show you first, and get you to respond in real time, and tell you after. That's the best way to get better at sparring or become a fighter if that's what you are after.
Eli trained me for kick boxing. In my opinion he was a great coach. He wouldnt give up until i did the steps correctly. I would work with him for 1 hour 5 times a week. he is a great teacher. Hes also motovates you to achieve goals.
I really enjoyed kickboxing with Andrew. It was tough but I lost so much weight and toned every muscle. It was great.
If you are serious about getting into the best shape of your life, you MUST train with John. He is absolutely THE personal trainer. John listens to your personal workout goals and works with you to achieve them. Bobby is great if you're looking to shake up your routine. I go to him whenever I need to get my butt kicked and need help starting a workout regimen again. He lets me complain but by the end of our sessions I'm sweaty, sore and grateful I came. Wait, did I just make a dirty joke? Damnit Bobby. But really, Bobby does not make me feel uncomfortable or objectified and the workouts are always fun. They range from circuits to weights to kickboxing. I really hate to run so he knows to provide some variety in the hour-long session.

I love this dojo! its clean, fully equipped and matted. Not like some others schools in the area that just train on carpet and use hard flooring. Blisters on the feet from carpet burns are not fun. Duarte Shotokan teaches Real Karate from a traditional lineage and it is a safe place to train, especially for kids. All the instructors and assistants are very kind and caring too. I have been in class for a few weeks already and I love the intense workouts and practical self defense lessons that are taught. I would recommend Duarte Martial arts Academy to anyone looking for a fun, safe and caring dojo.
