Introduction: Well I have 15 years of experience working professionally in the field with dogs to back me up. I am a certified dog trainer with a degree from Animal Behavior College. I have a Bachelor s degree from the University of Rhode Island. I have excellent references available upon request. Dogs are my lifestyle, not just a job. John is fantastic. Our dog is a 62 lb 1 year old male, very energetic and rambunctious. When we got him, he needed not only exercise, but also training and socialization. John provides it all! He takes our dog for 90 - 120 min hikes in Funston 3/wk. John makes sure our dog is well matched with the others in the group, so they all get along and get enough exercise and positive play. Our dog is always calm and content after his walks. John also sends up pictures so we can see how much fun (and sprinting) our dog is having. Plus we've noticed a marked improvement in our dog's recall, leash training, and how well he plays with other dog since being with John. I highly recommend John and ABC Dogs!

John calls our dog "cannonball" Beignet. She is without a doubt, a very high energy dog, with a few social skills that need honing. She had trouble with another dog walking company due to her energy and so we looked for a better fit and found this in John and ABC Dogs. We love the fact that John is the only person walking Beignet, unlike other dog walking companies with several walkers. The consistency of leadership has been really good for Beignet to work on some of her social skills. Even better, John knows her so well that he understands her quirks and how to handle them. John has a great energy with Beignet and she just loves him. She gets so excited when she hears his truck pull up outside, it is clear that her walk with John is the best part of her day. She is exhausted after her long walk and usually needs less exercise in the evenings because she is still so tired from her romp at Fort Funston! John has also boarded Beignet and has always been available when we've needed to get away for a little while, which is a great benefit of his service. He sends daily photos of walks and also of Beignet's sleepovers so that we know she is doing well and in good hands. It is very clear that John just absolutely loves his job. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and has a real connection with the dogs in his pack. We couldn't be happier with his services.

John has been walking our lab pup for months now, and sending her off with him a few mornings a week was the best decision we ever made. This is my first dog ever, and John has been great at guiding me through dog ownership. He is extremely professional and has spent a tremendous amount of time educating himself on the ins and outs of dog behavior and training, and his hard work and attention has paid off for our dog. She loves going with him and his crew, and we love the results! She is healthy and happy and better trained than we ever could have gotten her to be without John's help. He has a FB page that he updates each night, with photos from the day's activities, so we have proof of the fun adventures our girl is having. I am beyond grateful for having found John and ABC Dogs!

I could not imagine anyone taking better care of my two dogs. John is trustworthy, reliable, and the dogs LOVE him. He went out of his way to make sure the dogs were comfortable with him before he added them to his group.

John has been taking care of my dogs for well over a decade. He is 100% reliable and trustworthy and dogs love him. he has always been very accommodating and helpful and with my second dog, he actually picks my dog up from my workplace for his walks. John also does dog boarding and I feel very confident leaving my dog there because I know he will get plenty of exercise and attention. John is the best dogwalker I've ever had.

Do not bargain basement shop. The addage of "you get what you pay for" is true in this field. Try to weed out the slackers by searching for someone with an educational background rooted in canine psychology. Continuing education is the mark of a true professional. Customers should go with their gut instincts when they hire a dog walker because trust is such an important component in making that important choice.
