I am an athlete at heart and I found myself completely unhappy with my body and health about a year ago. After trying to work on my self esteem first, I decided in September it was time to get back into fitness like I had been my whole life. I came on thumbtack and scheduled meetings with five different trainers. I met with JJ first and cancelled the rest before I even had a workout with him. Honestly I hired him only based off of his personality and game plan for for getting me back into shape. He literally is one of the funniest people I have met. However he doesn't mess around when it's time to work. And each workout I find that he can push me to limits I didn't know I had. I have lost 24 pounds so far but have become so much stronger and healthier. We weight lift, do cardio, and he has taught me personal defense. I was skeptical paying money to get fit but I'm investing in my health and it truly makes me happy. (He is going to make fun of me for getting sappy on this but whatever he deserves it)
I signed up my daughter (she is heading for college next year) for Vinny's one on one personal self defense class after he called me and convinced me to try it for a session and then decide. I am glad I did. I take my daughter to his house on Saturdays. His family is always around, and his daughter assists him in training my daughter. I am extremely happy with his training style. He is patient, explains well, and demonstrates the techniques in such a way that is easily understood. One on one situation is the best environment for learning self defense. It is one of the strongest features of Vinny's system. Vinny trains my daughter in a variety of Marshall arts. I am convinced that by the time my daughter completes Vinny's 18 week program, she will be able to defend herself against any potential attack. If you have a child heading for college, invest in his or her safety with Vinny's program. You will be glad you did. I know I am.
Margo is a great trainer and really caters to the results you want to see. He makes working out fun. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn self defense skills and wants healthy long lasting results.

Johnny is awesome! From the moment I met him I could tell he was a pro. He was so hyperaware of what was going on around us at all times. As far as self defense goes, he's the absolute best! I've been meeting with him weekly and my progress thus far is really exciting. I know that if in an unfortunate situation I wouldn't freeze and could fend for myself. We do everything from basic self defense (if being attacked with knife/gun/sexual assault) to cardio and boxing. I love training with Johnny and can't wait to get grow even more in my ability. I highly highly recommend him! He is also so so knowledgeable and sweet and so impressive. A living breathing better version of John Wicke but a total teddy bear on the inside.

I am a great fan of Shihan Hojati, whose experience, knowledge and teaching skills are simply superb. I am greatly respectful towards his insights regarding Karate do. His approach towards his class is self defense and fitness oriented and his teaching methods encompass the traditional as well as the modified. All the kids as well as the adults benefit greatly in terms of fitness of body as well as that of the mind from his teaching. I have been training with him for more than a year now and hope to be here longer still as I enjoy every class with him!
