I took one of her Beginning Acrylic classes at Michael's, it was wonderful! We painted a floral peice and I gave it to my mom as a gift! (She loved it, haha). You can tell Samantha really loves painting and teaching, it was very informative and easy to follow. And questions were also very welcome. I'd definitely love to take another class soon!
I've done two paintings with Jessica. Both times were a great time. Both venues had a great artistic feel for the nights. I like how you can express yourself through your own painting and still follow the guide.
My son took violin lessons from Alicia many years ago, but I still have a very distinct memory of who she is and what our experience with her was like. I loved her energy, I loved her teaching style and my son had such a positive experience of music lessons because of her.
Mikaela did an amazing job teaching art and doing facepaint for the students at my karate studio!
I could not be more excited about learning from Patty. She is amazing. So talented yet so pleasant to spend time with. I cannot wait till next lesson. Thank you Thumbtack. You delivered my perfect teacher.
My daughter took art lessons with Therese and she had a positive and rewarding experience. Therese considers each student individually. She has extensive knowledge of a variety of techniques and applies them to each of her students, rather than teaching just one way.
I have been taking Rose's fine art drawing and painting classes for three years now, each session with classes ~2 hours a week, and have improved greatly from the extensive handouts provided and the models brought in. Learning the basics in traditional medium is an extremely important for a foundation in all types of visual art, and I have been able to build my portfolio and my skills throughout the years in preparation for college and career.
I met Violet several years ago through mutual homeschooling circles. I was so impressed with her joy and sweet calming spirit. I have 6 kids and one on the way and the current children took to her immediately. It was such a joy knowing I could trust her with my kids completely. We were sad to see her go and move on to better things in California. My kids still ask about her. Violet was so helpful when I went on bed rest with each and every pregnancy. She was helpful with the kids and keeping them on track with their studies, and simple chores around the house. Frankly, I don't think I could of moved forward so successfully without her. She was always super dependable and a bonus with her musical talent. My oldest daughter took off so well with her piano lessons that Violet was able to help her with, which was a major added bonus. A gift really! Such an added bonus for sure. I miss her terribly, and wish life didn't have to change and we have to live in separate parts of the world. It has been difficult trying to find anyone to fill her shoes. Anyone willing to allow her to help with children/families won't regret it. She is now considered a part of ours. Mom of 6

Besides the joy that painting gives me (it's the best relaxation there is), having the ability to teach someone else and pass the skill on gives me much more satisfaction. I am very patient, and I can see which way to lead my student very quickly. I am very good at nurturing already existing talent, and attending graphic school in Europe for three years has taught me the basics for many kinds of styles which I have practiced and experimented with for over 50 years.
These lessons are for the aspiring artists and just plain people who wish to be able to put their impressions of the world around them onto canvas. Lesson objectives will be an introduction to various oil painting tecniques and then demonstrate how they are used to produce oil paintings. Lessons begin with simple subjects and then progress to more complex ones and introduce new techniques with each lesson. Each class is based on direct observation of the model with emphasis on developing a personal technique and style. There are discussions of line, form, color, paint application, texture, perspective, composition and art history. I earned a B.F.A. from the University of South Alabama and supplemented my training with several years of private study and studio apprenticeships along the east coast of the United States. My work is in many private collections.
