I found Josh through Thumbtack and hired him to help us rehang SEVERAL random pieces of art, photos, mirrors, etc. on our walls after a full house remodel. We had close to 80 items to hang of which 60 or so were 10x10 photo mixtiles which went up on two different walls. They are a bit cumbersome to hang as they need to be equally spaced, level and centered on the wall. Josh hit it out of the ballpark! He was a perfectionist and ensured that all tiles were straight and that I was happy.
Josh continued to hang art on the walls including a new gallery wall that we worked together using a photo to get it pretty darn close to what the photo looked like.
He was there for 5 hours and never showed any signs of frustration or displeasure at what he was doing. He ensured that every item was centered on the wall using a laser guide and then exactly at the height I desired. He would frequently make adjustments to the hanging mechanism if he "didn't like it" even though I was saying, "it's fine with me". He wanted it done right and that was something that I really appreciated about him.
I believe Josh has many skills and I would not hesitate to use him again. He was prompt in responding to my request, followed up with me, confirmed our appointment time, arrived on time and was dressed professionally with all tools needed for the job. He even had a mini vacuum that he would place under the screws he was drilling into the wall to capture any debris and would also vacuum the floor area too! Overall, a job well done and a pleasure to work with.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of my education has come from practical experience. Mistakes can happen, that’s how we learn, but it’s important me not to make the same one twice. I use my network of skilled tradesman when I need advice and I’m not shy about it. All the information you need is available if you’re looking in the right places.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I landscaped our backyard for our wedding reception, then remodeled my kitchen. Had a great time doing both. A few people asked me to do projects and J McInnis services was born.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My project at Waza Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy is my most recent endeavor into carpentry. It was a challenge but also a rewarding experience. I was very fortunate to have some very capable people involved.
